I consider the existence of one or more Gods a possibility. But I cannot really say I believe in any. |

I should state for the record that I don't discuss theological debates, and that's why I'll only monitor this thread, but not post anything aside from this message here. |
| I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it. | |

For me, I think the buddhistic way is the correct faith. Not a god is responsible for our behaviour but we ourselves. At the end there are so many different fates (think you are born handicaped or as a woman in some countries), that I must believe in karma. If there was a loving and mighty god, all humans would have similar destinies. Guess we are here to learn and get with each life more complete... |

hmm, I've been travelling to third world countries. If I had the free will to decide to become either the son in a poor village and have only a pot of rice to eat, tainted with some nice fly larvae, or become the son of Bill Gates, I'd choose the latter one by my free will

Ush, I had long mail conversations with Tre about this topic... you know I am biologist, and many behaviours are simply steered by our genes. Means humans do not change and would decide always the way they do when confrontated with the same situation. Different is if we learn and adapt other behaviours based on (bad) experiences. Neurologists do not believe in a free will but think that everything is determined by our chemical transmitters in advance. Means this brings a new light to the believe in fate... Nice topic to philosophate. |

*The Thread Necromancer*!!!! :stalfos:

I'm a Polytheist, so yes, I'd say that there ARE HIGHER POWER(S)!! In addition to being a Polytheist, I'm a Shamanist, Mystic and Animist, and I ALSO am a very big believer in an infinite amount of alternate realities, in which everything and anything is possible, so yes, I DO BELIEVE; ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL!! ![]() Wouldn't this question be better suited if it were in a Poll?!

I too consider that likely. But people do change as they make experience. We do sometimes learn from our mistakes. Trial and error is how science works. |

I'm all about Occam's Razor. I'm afraid there's just too much science that has to be thrown out the window to be the simplest solution. |
