Somebody claims at Wikipedia that our page contains trojans. I can assure that neither Duke nor I have uploaded any such things. I am also not experienced with viruses or trojans, so anybody could check please if this is only a malicious claim or if that guy is right and somehow a trojan was uploaded or is part of the advertisement banners we have to add so that our website remains free. If it is proven trojan free I'd also like to ask somebody with wikipedia access to remove that line. Thanks for any help

Fixed, but I can't guarantee that it won't happen again, I'm not a mod or anything over there so I can't stop someone from doing this. |

I use the strongest anti-virus security suite that I can get my hands on legally (Kaspersky Anti-Virus Suite), and it has NEVER shown any malicious content on our site, the uploaded roms... anything. So I know our content should be fine. The ads, however, I can't verify clean or otherwise, because I keep all ads locked down and disabled by default (picture or otherwise). So I'm afraid on that front, I don't know. I think it's just somebody who is either trying to cause us grief, or someone who ended up with a virus and thought it came from us. It happens. |

I did a little "research" (for all of two minutes) into what this might be all on about. 1) This was done on the 28th July of this year. 2) The user IP is 151.47.45.59, based out of Chioggia in Italy by a IUnet user. 3) This was the second time, on the same day, this user added a "Trojan" message to the Wiki, before the link was removed. So that's kind of got me curious as to who, in Italy, might have a beef with the BS Zelda page... and before anyone dares to declare that I think it's Serkol, know that if he DID have malicious intent, he's got the admin password and could have COMPLETELY destroyed our database 100% with a few mouse clicks. So NO, it's no Serkol, nor am I even THINKING it would be him. I'm just wondering who, in Italy, would be flagging our site as viral. It's confusing. I'm tempted to run an IP filter check through the forums to see if any of our members might have this IP, and then see who that "person" might be. ...but I really don't know if that's abusing the system, or not. So I will just leave this information here for a bit, and see what's done with it. Another thing, someone might want to put a note in the "External Links" reference portion of the edited page to let "Jeffrey Mall" know that the reason the link to our page has been restored, is because there are no virals. Use his "Talk" page, and let him know. He's pretty much one of the top editor/reverter members of their "team", and didn't remove our link to be a jerk, he truly believed that the user who posted our page as viral was correct. Otherwise, it will be removed ~again~, and we might not be able to re-add it later. Just a "heads-up". Edit: Okay, so I got bored and tried a quick search of our member log for the IP used on the Wiki, and I can't get any results... so it was likely a guest that did the edit. Leading me right back to the idea that the person was either trolling, or had a previous infection that they blamed on us. |

I think you're using the link at the top of the thread, which refers to the archive instead of the actual article. |

Well Conn, since I've been sitting off in the shadows all quiet, I had to remind you guys ~why~ I'm one of the Triad of the Triforce in the first place... because I'm all myseriously resourceful. I still say it's important to leave a note as to ~why~ the Wiki has changed back, though... I don't want to have the page locked and us being unable to add anything new to it later. |

Well yes. If it was about Triforce, Duke is power or executive (due to his position as webmaster), I am wisdom or juicative (due to my abilities of coding) and you are courage or legislative (due to your skills to encourage, recherche and move things forward). That's our Triad actually Well, it was... in a month without a lifesign of Duke I guess we need a new holder for the Triforce of Power Maybe MoP can leave a note that it was never trojan infested. |

@Conn - Indeed... I'm almost fearful we will need to have to replace Serkol... but I hate that idea. We've had such a good tribunal ~because~ we three have always had such different views on what needs to be done with the page, that we've always had to come up with the most logical and "useful" solutions for problems and ideas. It's not at all good not to have a third opinion (since you and I do tend to have almost identical thoughts about the patches)... bah. I say give Serkol another couple of weeks before we think about replacing him... even if it's temporary. I would be really upset and insulted if I left for an extremely important reason (and couldn't leave notice), and came back to apologize and get back to my duties... to find that I was replaced by someone else. I'm just saying. @MoP - Awesome. Thank you for editing the page. I haven't signed up with Wikipedia, so I don't think I have edit privilage on the history pages. |

@Tre yes, you're right... We'll think about a new webmaster in 3-4 weeks. He should have time, ambitions (though we're almost done with those 2 games I guess) and skills (html, ftp, graphic design, webtools, english... whatever needed to run a hp. And if Duke comes back... well there were rumors about a fourforce ![]() @MoP: great, many thanks
