@Conn - We'll have to debate (in private) over new potential candidates for the "temporary" replacement at that point. For now, I'm still assuming Serkol WILL be back, and have an insane story to tell us. At least... I honestly hope he'll be back. And a four-force? Wouldn't that be a Quad-Force, or something?

Hi guys, first time poster, long time adorer of BSZelda games Anyways, when I noticed this topic on trojans, I went to the front page (which i normally don't do thanks to bookmarks) and I got a nasty message from Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (see pic). I checked the Kaspersky Lab Forum for info on the trojan and it looks like lots of once-benign sites now have this script on them. I really have no clue how the internets works, so I can't really help more than showing you guys the warning message I got .And again, thanks so much for your work on restoring these great games! |

As a Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 2008 user on one program, and a 2009 on the other, I would trust the warnings that Kaspersky gives. I haven't had a chance to log into my computers in weeks (been busy, so I'm using my laptop to post here) so I haven't seen the message. Chances are, this is refering to either an ad in one of the iFrame panels on the main site (I only ever come to the forums, never the main page), or possibly something in either the counter, Guest book, or something else that we aren't fully in control over. I'll have to give this a look next time I'm actually on my computer. |

I've been trying a bunch of different pages, and it seems that the only one that Kaspersky picks up is http://www.bszelda.zeldalegends.net/ . I tried it again on my desktop running BitDefender 2008, but that one isn't picking up anything on any page. Must just be a false positive that Kaspersky is picking up. |

hmm what to do now? Maybe I'll get kapersky and install it on my hd and run it over the backup mirror. Once done, I could delete the internet folder and reupload the complete page if that helps... Is anybody else experienced what to do against such stuff? |

Unfortunately, Kaspersky ~does~ tend to produce a few "false positives", especially on sites that don't have a valid certificate installed server side, and on any pages that might attempt to use JavaScript or other means to "control" page viewing outside of your Browser's security zone. Sadly, I don't know what's causing the warning for Matt to appear... and right now, I'm not really able to check it out (my laptop uses AVG Anti-Virus, and doesn't give me any warnings about anything at all... it's probably viral already from being used all over the city on hotspots). @Conn - I think the best bet is to make a mirror of the site on your harddrive and scan the files that you copied with an anti-virus tool. If it picks up on something, it's our files that are viral somehow. If it doesn't, and Kaspersky still shows Trojan warnings, it's one of the ads, the counter... or any other number of things that we aren't 100% in control over. |

False positive. This was detected by Kaspersky's heuristic algorithm (represented by the "HEUR" at the beginning of the virus name). It is not an actual threat. Now you know why I always disable heuristic checks in antivirus applications! In any case, I suggest adding a note on the front page and informing Kaspersky Lab about this. By the way, thanks for the screenshot Matt! |

Glad that (as I had thought) it wasn't a real virus or anything. I sent a lot of people here in the past, and don't want to think that I gave them (or myself!) a virus and never knew about it. |

Haha nice. I have that for the old NES too. I remember there was a rumor that the game was funded by Trojan condoms. Did you ever hear anything about that? |

I searched Wikipedia, but I'm not able to find out what everyone is talking about, as I when I searched the word, I didn't see anything that would relate "Trojans" to the Internet, or Computers in general... @Con: Please explain...
