Who's your favorite possum?
Every time I go to the bookstore I see the Zelda Manga, but I really hate Manga. I hate 99% of comics too. However ... I think comics are GREAT when used in a promotional form. And I really had fun with the promotional ones.

But I've always wondered what the general consensus is on the "Valient" Zelda comics. Anyone?

They are silly, much like the cartoon they are based off of (though not quite as much).

The cartoon may be silly, but it is also pretty awesome! The valiant comics are pretty good if you like the cartoon and want more of the same.

I also have an issue with people who somehow think that the Valiant Comic Books, (& hence, the Calatia idea), are "more valid" than the manga...

That's a part of what got me into BS Zelda in the first place...

Aside from the fact that the games are plain awesome overall... ^_^

Does anyone out there really think that the Valiant comic/the cartoon really holds much weight though? Ok, so the Calatia idea has been well recieved in the past, but at the same time, the Valiant comic/cartoon was really the only 'expanded universe' western Zelda fans were exposed to back in the early days.

Well, in the original unhacked version of BSLOZ1, the storyline makes it VERY PLAUSIBLE that either OOT &/or ALTTP :link: (s) appear, not as playable characters of course, but I'm honesly convinced they appear not only in the fan-made versions, but "behind-the-scenes", in BSLOZ1's storyline... :P :D

The sprites for them aren't in the unhacked versions of the roms, though. Right?

No, the sprites don't appear, which is essentially what I was saying when I said:

not as playable characters of course,

So yes, I concede that the BSLOZ :link: SPRITES don't appear in the original, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of them in the STORYLINE, & I'm honestly convinced that they do appear in that respect in addition to the hacked versions... ;)

(Of course, if we had the LENS OF TRUTH, well who knows)... :rotflmho:

Just in case the last emoticon didn't make it clear, I was mostly joking...

I'm not really sure how you think that the BSLOZ storyline allows for the OoT or ALttP Link to appear, even if you don't mean that they actually appear....

Does this thread help?!

& in BSLOZ, Zelda sends a telepathic plea for help, much like she did in ALTTP, & this leads me to believe that it was :link: who heard it, because... after all, he has heard her calling out for help before, & he would be more familiar with her telepathically calling for hep, although the BS-X Mascotts HAVE gotten telepathic CLUES from her, (& Sahasrala), they haven't heard her telepathically asking for help...

I hope that doesn't sound overly-confusing...

& besides, Impa quite possibly appears in AST, & she WAS supposed to be rescued by "a hero from another world", which fits the Heroes-of-Light/BS-X Mascotts quite nicely & I seem to remember Serkol saying that someone could possibly entertain that option...

Following that logic, combined with everything else, why can't at least ALTTP Link be in BSLOZ, if not OOT Link, since he is much younger than Impa?!
