Why would I want to catch a Digimon? Well, you may find your starter Digimon boring. You have a limited selection of starters to choose from and once you got your starter you're stuck with it. It also has an advantage to have more than one Digimon. Besides that, it also gives you something to do. Catching a new Digimon is hard work and then you'll have to train it as well. Of course, the choice of getting another Digimon completely depends on your own opinion about it. What do I need to catch a Digimon? First of all, your starter Digimon must have reached its Rookie stage, thus meaning it must be Lv11 or higher. Otherwise you will get the following message when you attempt to catch a Digimon: ![]() Second, the Digimon you're attempting to catch has to be an In-Training Digimon (that's Lv10 or lower). ![]() Third, the Digimon you're attemtping to catch must not be K.O. / fainted / dead. ![]() So this won't work. How do I catch a Digimon? There are two ways to catch a Digimon. The first is to use a Catching Net, the second is to use the Capture Tool. - Catching Net ![]() There are a few ways to get hold of this item. The first is to buy it of the website. This cost real money, but the actual point is that you have to be Korean. So much for that. The second is to buy it of Korean players for +/- 45.000.000 Bits. You earn Bits by selling items and beating wild Digimon. Better start saving up. The third is to trade it with a Korean player for Braves (Courage Crests). You can look into the Guides Section for ways on how to get these Crests. Once you get hold of this item, you can use it on a wild In-Training (Lv10 or lower) Digimon by right-clicking the Net and then left-clicking on the Digimon. You can use the net only once and you have a 100% success rate. - Capture Tool ![]() You can trigger the Capture tool by clicking on this button, or by pushing the "C" button on your keyboard. Next, click on the Digimon you want to catch and cross your fingers. ![]() According to Wikipedia, your success rate is 0,1% and you only have 3 tries per battle. The only upside to this method is that it's free. - Increasing the Capture Tool success rate Unfortunately, there is no proven way to do this. Not even lowering the Digimon's health, like in the Pokémon video games, will help. Some people do say that lowering health, a higher Tamer Lv, a higher Lv of your own Digimon, digivolving your own Digimon to Ultimate or teaming up with another player so there are more Digimon on the field will increaste the success rate. None of this is proven, and I myself have not been able to test out any of these theories to see if they might work. What is the best way to (attempt to) catch Digimon? In my own personal opinion, the best way is too train your own Digimon to Rookie form first (obviously), and then battling (and attempting to catch) Yuramon, Tokomon or Yokomon. Why? These are the only In-Training Digimon that drop items needed to make Brave Crests. So first you try to catch one of those Digimon, and if that doesn't work (what will be the case 99,9% of the times) you have a chance on getting some of the necessary items to make Brave Crests. This way you can combine both ways of catching a Digimon. Even though these three Digimon may not be the ones you want to catch, it's pretty much the best chance you've got. But, as said before, this is my own personal opinion. and it works for me, since Tokomon is one of the Digimon I want to catch. If there are any more questions, you can post them here. ^^ |
