As you look out the window, you see a blur rush past. You blink and look again. Three more blurs zoom by, making you start. Your eye manages to catch one of the blurs, and when it stops, you see what it is. It's a Pokemon, running along a trampled-flat dirt path that encircles the Xerolabs building. It tears forward once more, surpassing another Pokemon and takes the lead. It's the first to put its paw over the finish line. You wander outside, curious. A man, a new employee, is dressed casually. He tweets on a whistle hanging around his neck. The Pokemon stop running, and he approaches you. "Howdy, pard'ner!" He says with a southern accent. "Here to try one o' these races?" Yes, Poke racing is a fun sport enjoyed by many Pokemon in their spare time. It's not just about running, however- you can hinder your opponent's progress with an attack (but nothing with a base power over 50) or rest, or scour the field for shortcuts. This being just the perimiter of the Xerolabs building, there are none. Right? Rules: -In this race, Pokemon have an energy meter. This depletes as they run, and faster if they run faster or perform an attack. You can stop and rest to recharge your meter. If it reaches 0, you must perform a mandatory rest before running again. -You and the ref take turns posting. You post a command to your Pokemon, whether it be to run fast, jog, attack... the possibilities are as limitless as your imagination. -Each Pokemon starts with a speed level at 1. The leveling-up method is similar to that of battling. The higher your speed level, the higher your energy and the faster you can run. -At level 1 speed, your Pokemon has 20 energy. -If you wish to participate in a race, you must compete with four other (fictional) racers that will try their best to win. -The prizes for winning are: $50 x for first, $25 x for second, $10 x for third. There are no prizes for coming fourth or fifth. Any questions, please contact me. ^^ Go now, with all speed! |

I'd like to enter my Nidoran (male) please! Um. . .so we have the attacks that the real pokemon would have at the level it's at, plus a default Rest and Tackle? Or is tackle only for battling? I'm confused. . . Oh, and do I follow the attacks for d/p, because out pokemon start at level one. . .Would my Nidoran know leer and peck, plus tackle and rest? Or is rest default at all? |

...Seeing as there are *counts* four entrants together, would you all like to participate in a race against one another? That'd be exciting, as Agent Myst said. Although it'd be a greater challenge, because you're competing with other people instead of independant Pokemon void of any real-life owners. You're not allowed to enter two Pokemon, IcemasterX. That would give you an unfair advantage. Your Pokemon can do whatever you want them to do that is within their power, including ramming an opponent or kicking sand into their eyes. The possibilities are endless. You could say, "Leer at the foe while dashing forward" or "Take a breather while kicking sand at everyone else." It's a lot more free-formed and unrestrained than battling. At the end of every round, the Pokemon get their energy meter and a percentage of the track they've covered. The Xerolabs track is relatively short. It starts in front of the Xerolabs building, crosses over the parking lot, ducks on a sandy path through some trees, comes out of the woods and runs behind the Xerolabs building, and then after rounding a corner it's a straight stretch home. The path is about half a mile. Your Pokemon have tiny communicators so they can hear your orders. |

Good to hear it! However, seeing as we have to wait for everyone's orders, Mudkip said he'd be going on vacation for a week. Lag like this would seriously slow the race down, so I really don't think we should include him in the race. Nothing against you, Mudkip. You can always race another time. ^^ |
