I've been thinking about it lately, to make an RPG forum, I mean. It'd best be about Pokemon, but I have a few other ideas, too. I was thinking about creating the RPG on a SimpleMachines or phpBB forum software. Do you guys think an RPG forum would be a good idea for Eonlight Valley? =O |

I am biased against SMF, but phpBB is rather appalling if you ask me (yes, I used it before I ever heard of IF/IPB). Why not? Never hurts to add a facet that attracts new faces to our pod... My vote? Try it. |

^_^ I like SMF, but I stopped using it when my old SMF forums got hacked. I'm not sure if you were there then... you might've been using a different username - I don't remember. XD; phpBB is great too, and I think it had some good modifications. I would like to use IF, but it's limited in features that would be good for an RPG. Like, phpBB has a money mod and all that. XD |

Personally, I love rpgs, and I would join right away, so my vote would be yes. |

Fwee! =D Actually, should I make the RPG a completely separate forum, or add a new category at the bottom of this one with subforums? I'd probably prefer a separate forum, but it may be cool to have a normal forum and RPG combined together. XD |

Hm, I am sure you see the pros and cons of a separate board, so I am not going to list them. Problem is, two boards is more to handle. The one limitation on IF that hurts RPGs is that subforum is the futhest you go. IIRC, IPB can have subforums within subforums (I am sure you do not intend to go that way, but never hurts to mention...) Plus of IF that you probably are not aware of is the flexibility of usergroups on the active user display. We can have anything from 'flames' to minisprites... I would say keep it here, less to moderate. |

Ya, you have a point, but I could always make the RPG on a separate IF board. One con about having it here would be that people would have to scroll down a lot when they visit the board index, and some people are just lazy like that. XD However, it is possible to click on a category title and have it show up only. I'm not really planning on having loads of subforums, because I believe I'd only need one level off from each board. Like Zephyr did with Xerolabs, I could put links beneath the board descriptions to the subforums. (It would also be easier for me since I won't have to make a new skin. xD) And yes, it'd be easier to moderate. ^^ Let's see what the others say. =D |

*Shrug* Conosseiur of Pokemon Roleplays as I am, yours have a tendency to have great potential but then never live up to it. I'd certainly join, but only if you tied it closely with EVF would it stay grounded and not float into inactivity, which is what RPG forums notoriously do at times. Add a plot, interesting place names, and something that catches the eyes of members and you'll have them coming in by the truckloads. But don't leave it unattended or it will gradually deteriorate. I can discuss particular ideas over PM. Point is, should you make one, make sure it's active and catchy. (No pun intended.) Have well-written rules and such and I'm ure it'll be great. |

Ya, that's true. XD It's probably because I'm so excited with starting an RPG, but then I suddenly lose inspiration and neglect it until I've forgotten about it or moved on to something more interesting. XD |
