Do you guys nickname your pokemon as well? If so, what? So I have a lot of Pokemon with nicknames... picks up DS and goes to PC In no particular order... Dialga: Haxxor! Mesprit: Run Noob Azelf: (censored)-Elf... (too tempting... and it was really annoying to catch) Uxie: Telepath Kabuto: Sammael(haven't gotten around to training it yet) Eevee: Mephisto(same as Kabuto) Rapidash: Sp33d Vaporeon: Mazrim Empoleon: Fatal Wing Floatzel: Tails Pachirisu: Epic Luxray: Volt Mr. Mime: Asmodean Ralts: Lanfear Abra: Demandred Abra: Rahvin(haven't decided which to train yet... going to decide by natures) Lucario: Flash Step Bronzong: Malkieri Leafeon: Aviendha Jolteon: Vivaldi Scyther: Sword Song Chatot: J. S. Bach Flareon: Logain I get my nicknames from books, mostly. Especially the Wheel of Time. Which you should go read now. Oh, and composers. My only regret is that I couldn't do Mendelssohn, because his name is 11 letters long... but yeah. Bach, Vivaldi, and Mendelssohn are ftw composers. I thought I had more Pokemon than that... Guess not though. So yeah. Your nicknames? Do you nickname? Am I just (very)strange?

Palkia:Pearl Azelf:Ruby Uxie:Smarty Empolion:Bubble Arceus:Goddess Shaymin:Flower Darkrai:Shadow Cresslia:Cressent Plese note that I used cheat codes for Arceus, Darkrai, and Shaymin. The nicknames I use are based on: (a)Type (b)Species But for Palkia, I used the version name.

XDD But now, I don't really nickname them as much. And if it's a legendary, I keep its original name because it's unique~

Unregistered	The game feels too artificial if I don't use nicknames...some of my favourites from over the last eight years (with commentary =P): Looooooong list ahead (I like nicknaming; yes, some are mundane): Red~these were very trait-oriented...like calling Pikachu 'RAT' (thought I never did)... FIRE BUG~Charizard (I think TR calls CHarmander that some time) TECEL~Golduck (totally random) CH'DING~Farfetch'd shot RED WING~Moltres (...hey, I was in third grade) TRANSFORMY~Ditto (it just stuck for every successive Ditto) TRIQUAKE~Dugtrio (I thought it was cool-sounding) EGG MAN~Exeggutor (this was the very first nickname evah, before I owned my own Red version...my friend hated it...) I just realised, upon opening my Crystal, that it spontaneously deleted itself or something. I'll put a few here off'a memory... Crystal~some were good-quality, others were still really bad traits like Azumarill and shiny Clefable... LOCH~Magmar (hatched on a special day) HAPPINESS~Togetic (I wanted to give my Gold Togetic a quick name before resetting the game and sending off the best pkmn, so I just picked that) FLIGHT~Noctowl (s) ;_; (...) MOON FAIRY~Clefable (s) (I had a tendency to do that sometimes) AQUA BUNNY~Azumarill (see?) RESERVOIR~Suicune (cool name ftw) DENISE~Phanpy (human names are fun sometimes) VIRTUALY~Porygon2 (my friend deleted TECHNO, my first Porygon2) BUGGERNAUT~Beedrill (went to my sister) (juggernat, Buggernaut? get it?) FRIEND~Cubone (Cubones are lonely and need friends...) PSNDOS~Ariados (that was one killer name for one killer pkmn) CLIDE~Gligar (idk about this one...) Emerald~I had a thing against traits and purely random names most of the time when catching in this game, so most of the Emerald pkmn came out as me toying with the pkmn's original name or a word...like Trapinch-->SANDERZ... WHISH~Whiscash (sounds like 'Wish' (take out the 'cas' from Whiscash)...one of my favourite nicknames ever) CHELSEA~Latias (I named her just the other day...it fits well) TOPS~Kabutops (KISS) SUNNY~Altaria (s) (yellow Altaria?) CASCY~Dustox (Cascoon+Pet Name=CASCY...it sounds really kiddy, but CASCY is one of my signture pkmn now) DETON~Electrode (detonator?) CLAMPY~Clamperl (s); Huntail (s); Gorebyss (s) (my sister's friend's little brother caught a shiny Clamperl and it was arranged that it would be sent to my Emerald for massive cloning and distribution, well, before sending it, I named it CLAMPY 'cause I was not gonna go without nicknaming a shiny) SHADE~Sableye (the pkdex description or something) MEDICHAN~Medicham (female medicham+chan=MEDICHAN) NUMERUPT~Camerupt (sometimes, it's fun to take first of pre-evo and last bits of evo and squash them together) KRADILY~Cradily (I had a problem in Emerald with changing single letters ><) BUTTKICKER~Hariyama (my friend released BUTTKICKER because he hated the name so much) SCHNOZ~Nosepass (stupid name, solid pkmn...rock solid pkmn shot) TADOL~Ludicolo (read backwards) BRITE~Ampharos (mebe LiteBrite? SIGNAL~Yanmega (went to sister...she beat Palmer with it <<) (I egged it with Signal Beam) Diamond~those Emerald name mess-arounds got old, so now my names just got awesome with a lot of thought behind every one (Hoothoot does not count~only purpose is Flying) CASCY~Dustox (again) (uh...Cascoon, again) FRANCIUM~Floatzel (least electronegative element) TOTOC~Luxray (okay, this one is fun. Fix the single-letter change and you get TOTOK. Well, when I caught my Shinx, my sister was in the background complaining about the Temple of The Ocean King...acronym ftw) IOBOSU~Turtwig (remember Aobosu? My sister named her Turtwig that, so I followed the trend and created IOBOSU...I wanted Piplup ;_;) SWAP~HOOTHOOT (SWAMP-M) SAM~Togetic (doesn't exist yet) (over at SPPf, there's a face-off called Chorusam; the last three letters spell Sam...HAPPINESS<SAM) New Ruby~playing simultaneously with Diamond, so the names are all kinda similar in nature) SIMAS~Combusken (we ate Simply Asia noodles that night) DEE-EFF~Kirlia (has something to do with the letters D and F) --MORE TO COME-- I usually don't name monolegendaries 'cause their pkmn name is their name...so yeah, many ways I name pkmn. The newer ones tend to be either strange like SIMAS or WHISH or actual names like CHELSEA and SAM...but I still like FIRE BUG and RED WING anyways (mebe only because of the memories attached to it. I learned the candy code by losing a battle with FIRE BUG against a team of 100s)...

It happened to both my Gold versions. --------------------- I never nicknamed any Pokemon until I got Ruby version, so I'll just do my Ruby & Diamond version Pokemon (Current team for Diamond, and my 1st elite 4 for Ruby). As soon as I remember what I had in Red, Fire Red, and Gold, I'll edit: Ruby version: Blaziken -- Akira Zangoose -- Crawd Swellow -- Skye Alakazam -- Aganhim (I was going through another A Link to the Past obsession at the time. It's my favorite Zelda game anyways, so.... Yeah.) Absol -- Razor (quite unoriginal I suppose. I was up at two in the morning when I caught it and named it, so... Yeh...) Crobat -- Klarth (I was thinking about one of the characters from Tales of Phantasia. I think it was a time when I was addicted to Tales of Phantasia the Animation.) Diamond version (Elite 4): Empoleon -- Noah Weavile -- Luca-Noa Lucario -- Tetsuo (I just got through watching the movie Akira when I named him as a Riolu XD) Luxray -- Lumina Lucario -- Rock (Love egg pokemon. I got the name from the character Rock Howard, from SNK Playmore's Fatal Fury series, and The King of Fighters Maximum Impact games.) Vaporeon -- Aqua (A Pokemon my friend migrated from my Fire Red version onto his game, and then traded to mine. I've always named my Vaporeon Aqua. Where do you think my name comes from? =P) Diamond (Current) Vaporeon -- Aqua Espeon -- Alyna Lucario -- Tetsuo Luxray -- Lumina Blaziken -- Mitsuru (I actually managed to nab a female Torchic from one of my friends, and named it Mitsuru, after one of the characters of Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3. <3 Flare Blitz) Meganium -- Leorina (The name came from the character Leorina, a Sky Pirate in the game Klonoa 2 Lunatea's Veil.)

I wish I did. It might give me something to laugh at. Someday I'm going to get Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and join in on the nicknaming fun. =D

I'll give them one if they help me a lot in wi-fi battles. Name-Species-Origin Shimmer - Starmie - umm it just seemed to match it KrabKing - Kingler - wasn't very creative at the time >> Might change it Aurora - Froslass - matching ftw. xD Fluffy - Ampharos - It's fluffy when it's a mareep, and I just kinda kept the name cuz I liked it. Frostique - Mamoswine - Frost + Antique. It's a mammoth, and it's a girl. xD Remind me that I hate this pkmn, okay? << I got a few more: Diamond AZOO~Azelf (my sister gave totally ridiculous nicknames to her DP legendaries, so now I'm on a crusade to beat her...AZOO is AZELF+ZOO, plus it sounds like kazoo =D) UXSCHAO~Uxie (a variant of some stupid word on the George Lopez commercials) SWAPPER~Dialga (the joke was that my Hoothoot, Swap, much like Iobosu, has little purpose for anything but using HMs...that was true until I caught Dialga with Swap's Hypnosis, soooo...DIalga took on its name =3) MINNEON~Finneon (I had a problem getting a name I liked for this little fishy...so I named her after a combo of her evo and first stage...or just take the 'Lu' off and add an N) SAM~Togepi (uhhhh...I did this one already...but he exists now =D) TAYL~Budew << (I wanted to give her a pretty name because she's part Grass type...so I took the 'or' off of 'Taylor' to get Tayl, which, I think, rhymes with some character from Megaman or something...I like it =3...now if only she'd evolve <<) Ruby FLASHER~Zubat (I caught one assuming it'd learn Flash...it couldn't ><) FLASHERS~MAKUHITA (now this one learned Flash xP) While I'm playing Ruby over, my sister is replaying Fire Red.
