It was a great day, it was sunny and the only noise you can hear is the birds chirping and the flow of the river. The Pokeball she was carrying was the only item her family gave to her, she looked at it with a smile and then summoned the thing inside it. It was Leafy, the Oddish. Leafy was bouncing happily after being released and it looks like it wants to fight. Jasmine said, smiling: "Ready to start the day, Leafy?" Leafy looked at Jasmine happily but her mood changed so suddenly, she looked Jasmine in a scared way, in a different way that she never did before. Jasmine asked: "What's the matter?" Leafy responded by leaping to Jasmine's hands with her weeds pointing at Jasmine's back and was talking like it wants to tell something, "Odd- odd - odd; Oddish -- odd". Jasmine seems to have understand what Leafy said and looked behind her....... she saw a......... |

Suddenly you heard footsteps, and then a dark shadow was looming over you. Tall and humanoid, it gripped a long weapon like a sword. Leafy's eyes widened and it recoiled in fear. You couldn't see the features of the man, but perhaps Leafy's vision was better and he was really scary or... The man stepped into the light, and you started. It wasn't anyone scary at all, just-- you recognized him immediately-- Bernie, the fisherman who lived down your street and often sold his catches at the market. What you had previously taken for a sword was simply a fishing pole. Leafy saw this too, and visibly relaxed in your arms. The man turned toward you, a puzzled expression on his face. "Ah'm sorry, did I scare yeh? Yer lil' Oddish there seems a mite troubled." He chuckled good-naturedly. "Now o'course tha's my fault. I've got no account sneakin' up and scarin' you like tha'. Looks like yeh found my secret fishin' spot here. Tell yeh what: ta make up fer scarin' yeh, yeh can get my first catch o' the day. How's tha' sound?" |

After hearing the question, Jasmine was thinking, "What should I do with this fisherman? Should I kill him right here and now?" But suddenly, she changed her mind and decided to spare the life of the old fisherman. After 5 second of pondering, she decided to not accept the offer. She said thankfully: "Well, it's not really necessary, old mister, although I thank you for the offer. Besides, they say it's better if you catch your own." What did you mean catch of the day? You mean fish? or Pokemon? |

"Heh? I thought fer sure... well, if yeh say so, missy..." He then walked a little ways downstream and sat on a soft place and began to spear bait on the hook. All was quiet besides the sounds of nature, the wind sighing in the branches and the stream burbling along. Bernie began whistling to himself. Along the path to town, you heard kids shouting and then some cheerful laughter. Leaves crunched under sneakers, and a young girl of about eight or nine years old ran into the clearing and nearly tripped over you. She hurriedly doubled back, muttered a quick apology then leapt over to the brook, where she balanced precariously on a stone. More footsteps, and then three boys ran into the clearing as well. "'Ey, Miki, give 'im back!" the smallest whined. The other two folded their arms and glared. Miki stuck out her tongue at them, and suddenly you noticed she was holding something in her arms. Off in the distance, Bernie muttered something about "those kids again" but didn't move. ((Er, yes, by "catch of the day" I guess he'll hook the Pokemon, then you'd get the chance to fight it in a battle for experience or catch it. There's the whole Pokemon =/= food dillemma...)) |

Jasmine was curious on what are those kids doing. Again, she thinks deeply, "That old man must know something. I think he's still useful, I'll kill him later." She approached the fisherman in silence and asked him about the children earlier, "Uh...Excuse me old mister, do you perhaps know anything about the children back there?". |

Bernie looked up at the children, shaking his head. "Those kids're always up to somethin'. Dunno why Miki still plays with 'em, all they do is tease 'er." The boys had started picking up pebbles from the ground and tossing them at Miki. The girl squealed, bending over to shield whatever she held in her arms. Looking up again from his fishing, Bernie said, "Ah, poor Miki, looks like they're afta her lil' Caterpie again... Someone aughta teach them a lesson." Miki started yelling at the boys, wobbling on the stone in the brook. The boys were young; to defeat them in a battle would probably teach them said lesson. But it would be rather easy to join them and take the Caterpie from Miki's arms, as well... |

Jasmine is watching the whole scene. She wants to see the girl suffering. She is enjoying Miki's squeals and it appears that the squeals invigorates her. She wants to hear more cries from her. However, something is telling her to save the girl from being stoned by those boys. Leafy feels sad to see Miki going through all of these. Leafy wants to save the girl, so the Weed Pokémon runs to the location of Miki, and the Pokémon stands in between, in order to protect the girl and to stop the madness. Jasmine is disappointed that the girl stopped squealing. So she went to Leafy in an angry mood. However, she is also willing to battle the boys to have some fun. "Hey boys, pick on someone your own size.... Like me." "I am Jasmine, member of the Veach Girls Club, and I challenge you all to a Pokémon battle." |

The boys spun around to face you, wearing guilty expressions on their faces until they realized they were facing a girl their own age. The looks of shame melted away, and the oldest, who also seemed to be the leader, grimaced and spat on the ground. "Whatcha mean, our own size?" he said, looking you up and down. "Yer smaller n' us." He was right; the smallest boy saw eye-to-eye with you, while the tallest towered about six inches above. "Besides," continued the boy, "I ain't never heard o' no Veach Girls club or wha'ever hooey yer talkin' bout. But I would battle you, except..." he spun on his heel just in time to see the girl Miki successfully hopping to the other side of the brook. "'Ey! You... stupid! Ge' back here!" Immediately he forgot about you and dashed after the girl, slipping and falling in the brook. The other boy followed, but the youngest looked up at you apologetically. "S-sorry," he said in a quiet, unaccented voice, "but you do know that's Colin's Caterpie, don'cha? Mili took it from 'im. So we're trying to get it back." He sighed. "S'not the first time she's taken it either. She keeps sayin' somethin' about us not treatin' it good or whatever. Look, I'm sure Colin would love to battle you, but... s'his Pokemon. Sorry." He then dashed off to chase after the rest of the group. Bernie, the fisherman, looked up at you. "Like I said, dem kids again. You still up fer that battle? They're jus' playin'." He pointed a gnarled hand downstream. "'Round the bend, there's a bridge, should ye be wantin' to chase after 'em." |

"Battling them wouldn't be a waste anyway", Jasmine thought to herself. She still was angry for their ignorance but she thought she'll be better after seeing them suffer. She chased after them, not listening a word from the old fisherman. "I'll teach you a lesson or two!" Jasmine ran as fast as she can, taking all the possible short-cuts to catch up, as she knew the town very well. She tried to overrun the kids to hopefully stop and make a decent battle with them. She also had nasty plots in mind. |

As you were cutting across a street, Miki smacked into you. The Caterpie flew from her arms, curled up in a ball, and rolled when it hit the ground until it came to a stop, where it remained curled up, making whimpering noises. Miki looked up at you, aghast. "Look what you made me do!" she scolded, fire in her eyes. Behind her, the boys caught up, but slowed when they recognized you. Miki didn't; she drew herselfup to her full height (shorter than you) and put her hands, balled into fists, on her hips. "You made me drop 'im! Now he's all hurt an' cryin', see? I oughta teach you a lesson for that!" She reached into a pocket on her skirt and pulled out an ornate-looking Pokeball-- a luxury ball. It had tape on the top, with her name written on it. "You've got a Pokemon! So you must be a Pokemon trainer! Battle me!" she commanded, pressing the button on the front. Pinkish light shot out, and congealed into a quadrupedal form.  (F, lv. 4) 100%"Glameow's my friend, an' she'll beat you jus' like she always beats them," she said, jerking a thump over her shoulder at the boys. Colin, meanwhile, had run up and collected his Caterpie, which was still whimpering. He was holding it roughly; you could see that he didn't care much for it, and that Mili was probably right about him mistreating it. She seemed to have lost all interest in it now, though, and was more focused on battling you. "Glameow, Fake out!" she cried, and the cat Pokemon leapt forward blindingly fast, knocking Leafy off your shoulders and onto the cobblestones, which it hit with a cry and flinched. Glameow: 100% Leafy: 80% |

Jasmine stood for a second then raised her eyebrow. She didn't thought Miki would be like this. She giggled and then shouted: "Hey you there! You received your Pokémon back so you owe me a favor! THROW ROCKS AT HER! NOW!". The boys were startled by Jasmine's shouting but then started gathering rocks to then throw them to Miki. Miki squealed, and tried to defend. Jasmine, in the meantime, talked to Oddish, "C'mon you can do it! I want you to use Sweet Scent and then unleash an Absorb attack if Glameow falls to the trap, k? I'm counting on you bud!" Jasmine looked at Miki again with a nasty smile on her face. The girl's suffering continued to envigorate Jasmine. Jasmine giggled. |
