With the release of the new version, I thought it would be a good idea to start a new discussion thread for it. Not much else to say at the moment. Enjoy!

OK, I just realized that I forgot to change the fact that the player starts with the Mysterious Medal, Book Of Lost Souls, and Red Kindle Sceptre. Those items were only given to the player for my own playtesting. If you act quickly, you will be able to start with these items. Think of it as compensation for having been stuck with that crappy starting wand and not being able to learn most of the spells in the last version. I will be replacing the HL122-Main.rar file with a version that removes those items soon, so act quickly if you want free stuff!!

First time posting, and I have to say, i love your mod, the factions are great, so is the navel combat, and I enjoy the map a lot. Obviously I haven't been able to fully delve into the new version yet, but at the moment I've been messing around in Dragon's Dearth, and, on a very minor note, I can't seem to be able to get a report on how much a person like's you with Violet, is there any way to tell? I had been looking for a good fantasy mod, and yours definitely fits the bill, and surpasses it. excellent work. |

Thank you. Well, the flirting option is still in the design process. I haven't added a way to track how much she likes you. And the "Marry Her" option does nothing yet. Your relation with her actually doesn't mean anything right now. Your ability to successfully use any of the flirt options is based on either your charisma or your persuasion. Eventually, I will make it so that your relation with her will be a third deciding condition on whether any given flirt option is successful or not. So, if your relation with her is really bad, it won't matter what your charisma or persuasion are. I'll also eventually add mini-quests she will send you on as a way to rebuild your relation with her if it gets too low. Currently, the magic numbers are:Charisma: 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 21, Persuasion: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 I'll also eventually add gifts that will increase your Persuasion skill while they are in your inventory, but will be removed once a flirt action has been successful. And possibly other items such as a "Ring Of Charm".

OK, the HL122-Main.rar download has been fixed so the player will no longer start with those items I mentioned above. If you haven't already downloaded the version with them, then you'll just have to get them the way you're supposed to.

I came across something you might find interesting. I think there is some inbreeding going on up in those mountains This was in an Orc Town, can't remember which one.![]() Just a little side note. I started going through and correcting the diffuse/shader problem like I did with the last version. I changed everything in the communityhelms.brf, everything in the orc.brf and some other odds-n-ends. There were a few more here and there but I haven't been through all the brf's yet, want to play to grab some screen shots. Such as this one: ![]() Edited by Gerhart, Aug 24 2009, 08:13 AM.

I must have set that one to the wrong race when I was updating the merchants. I obviously updated his equipment, but either I forgot to correct his race, or entered it wrong. I did a lot of copy/pasting to save time, but apparently made a few mistakes along the way. That second screenie is very nice. I may put that one in the gallery.

Two things I need to ask if they are intentional. One, Necronus at Tombstone has only the crystal in his inventory for weapons, nothing else. Two, at Sanctuary there is hardly anything in the Merchants inventory. Do I need to build a relationship with the Town before anything more comes in? The items that are in there, which is very little, are still the same ones from when I first visited. |

Yeah, for whatever reason, Necronus will always equip the crystal. It is technically a melee weapon. I haven't quite figured out why he never equips the scythe anymore, but I think his spells are more effective anyway. The Sanctuary Merchants add new items to their inventory each day. Or at least they're supposed to. They did work last time I tested them, but I suppose it's possible something has changed. I'll do some more testing on them later. Let me know if they continue to have the same stuff after several days. |

First Impressions: Awesome First Bug Encountered: The beard textures have changed in a bizarre way, you cant see the individual strands, its just a mottled wad of color. I cant tell if the hair is behaving in this way as well, but it is perhaps. Is this intended? |

Also, the Seahaven, the pirate town, I was able to find it after speaking to a town walker, so that's good, but when I got there they were hostile. I could recruit pirates, but there were no guns or anything of that sort to purchase. Also, when I left the pirate haven after sneaking in, my boat disappeared and I was floating along the water on a horse. |

Keedo: I think just the ones with white/gray hair, but I'm not for sure. It looks very strange. Edited by Kytos, Aug 24 2009, 08:34 PM.

The Musketoon: It looks like a great weapon, but I can't equip it, as it says "Requires: 8 " but it doesn't specify what it needs 8 of. I have over 8 in all my attributes, and I can only assume it means over 8 in power draw, but I don't really think that makes sense either. |

I'm not sure about that one. I don't know of any way to edit what the difficulty(#) refers to, so if it's not referring to any of your attributes, Power Draw, or maybe even Power Throw ( ), my only guess would be the Firearms proficiency. But that doesn't make a lot of sense either. I haven't seen any weapon that uses a proficiency for its difficulty. I'll probably have to remove the difficulty from it if we can't figure out what it is requiring.Regarding the white beards and hair, that's probably an error on my part related to either the shader or something else in the material settings. Not the actual texture itself. I'll have to look into it. And as for the Pirate Town merchants, yeah. They're still kinda messed up. They use the same type of script that the Sanctuary merchants use, but it's not affecting them correctly for some reason. Edited by Keedo420, Aug 24 2009, 08:49 PM.
