Crappy title for this, but who cares...right? Anyway, I'm giving the players of this mod the opportunity to design their own companions to replace one of the existing "lesser" companions such as the tavernkeepers, travellers, guildmasters/mayors, tournament masters, minstrels, etc. Please follow these guidelines when submitting:

  • The character must be original.
  • The character's stats, skills, and proficiences must be within reason. No more than 36 total points for stats and no stat over 12. No more than 12 total skill points and no skill over 3. Proficiencies are handled differently for npcs. There is so you can choose wp (all weapons): 60, wp_melee (1-handed, 2-handed, polearms): 80, or 100 in ONE of the following: wp_one_handed, wp_two_handed, wp_polearm, wp_archery, wp_crossbow, wp_throwing, or wp_firearms.
  • Starting equipment should also be within reason.
  • Their stats/equipment should also reflect to a certain degree, what they do. If, for instance, you make a companion Tavernkeeper, they might be strong (to kick out unruly customers) and have some some fighting experience (perhaps they are ex-soldiers), but it is unlikely they would have very good armor or weapons. Whereas a companion Mayor, would probably be more charismatic and have leadership, training, or tactics skills, but might not be that great at fighting (though their position would no doubt give them access to better equipment than the tavernkeeper).
  • Decide what town you want them to be from (unless you are creating one of the travelling companions) based on what race you want them to be.
  • Only one character per person will be accepted, but you can submit more than one.
  • Create a unique face for them as well. To get the face code, make sure you enable edit mode (click "Configure" in the game launcher, then click the "Advanced" tab, then check the "Enable Edit Mode" box). Once ingame, press CTRL-E at the face selection screen. A box at the top of the screen will appear with a line of numbers and letters. Once you've finished designing their face, click on the box and then paste the code into a text file and save it for when you are ready to submit your character.
  • When creating Dark Elves, keep in mind that in their society, females hold most of the positions of authority, so any dark elf mayors must be female. The Empire Of The Sands is the opposite. All EOTS mayors must be male. The mayors of the other kingdoms can be whatever you want.
  • Keep in mind, this is a contest to create CHARACTERS....not just powerhouse tanks to mow down your enemies. Submitted characters should be interesting and have reasons for having the skills/equipment/job that they have. Create a brief backstory for your submission. If the character is accepted, this story will be used to create their dialog.
  • Posting a screenshot of your submission is optional, but definitely welcome.
  • When postng your submission, use a format something like this:
    Name:
    Gender:
    Occupation:
    Stats:
Skills: (no need to mention skills with a score of 0)
    Proficiencies:
    Face Code:
    Backstory:
    Screenshot (optional)

While there are no real "prizes", I call this a contest, because characters that are accepted will be included in whatever version I am working on when they are accepted. I will also create a section in the Credits for who created each of the submissions. There is no specific time limit on this. Once a character has been selected, it will be added to the list below of what companion slots have been filled (there are only so many tavernkeepers :D ).

The following slots have been filled:
Saevel Verque (Tracker/Slave Trader)
William McClure (ex-Doctor, now Goods merchant in a Morte town)

Name: Auninath
Gender: Male
Occupation: Evil Mastermind (...what? I'm giving you something FUN to work with)
Stats: Mostly in INT and CHA (He's a Mastermind, not a Henchman)
Skills: Heavily centered on Tactics and has +2 in horse riding
Proficiencies: Put it all in One-Handed. (But don't give him a Shield)
Face Code: Anything that makes him look evil, but not old.
Backstory: He was once an advisor to King Wayland, but was attacked by a corrupt guard captain and then accused by the same captain of treason. He was then stripped of his title and wealth and banished from Velor. Greatly angered at the injustice that his own fellow men had bestowed upon him, he rode out in search of Greygor and told everything he knew about the thriving Kingdom of Velor to Greygor.

Now when you meet him in the game he is in a Tavern in Tihr. He has been appointed to watch the frontlines of battle but is angry that Greygor's armies are taking too long to conquer the island. After an exchange of gold and a slight nudge to the player to get them to get off their fat butt and start taking over some towns, he joins your party in hopes of finally getting revenge by assisting the one man who can destroy all his enemies. (Because the other Kingdoms certainly won't!)

Auninath seems like he might make a good addition. The only problem is that of his origin. One thing that was left out of the Background Story for the mod, is that Wayland was eventually assassinated by a shape-shifting minion of Greygor's named Falcon Redgrave. Falcon had taken the form of Wayland's son Enrick to do the deed and made sure he was seen by guards so that Enrick would be framed for the murder. Enrick eventually proved his innocence and took his father's place as king. This was all tied into a rather complicated plot involving 7 swords which each had a shard of a shattered magic crystal in their pommel, and Greygor's quest to find them. The 7 seven shards were once a single crystal that could kill undead instantly.

In the original story, Greygor was turned into a vampire after he was banished to the mainland for practicing magic (which was considered evil at the time). It was at that point that he devised his plan of revenge against the seven clans). ANYWAY, back to the crystal. OK, I have to sum this part up, because this is where it gets REALLY complicated... Now, Greygor comes under the influence of a powerful demon who promises Greygor power in exchange for opening a gateway for the demon to enter the mortal realm. In order to do this, he needed to aquire two opposing magic crystals - the Shard Of Light and the Sliver Of Darkness. Greygor aquires the Sliver from the base of an alter in the abandoned castle which he then claimed as his own. The Shard however remained hidden from the demon until it was removed from a box that cloaked its power. It had been kept hidden by the elder in Wayland's village and was given to Wayland as the key to defeating Greygor's growing army of undead.

Now....Wayland had embedded the Shard in the center of his shield. During the final confrontation with Greygor, Greygor attacked Wayland with the Sliver (which was fashioned in the shape of a dagger and even the slightest scratch from it would kill a mortal instantly). However, Wayland blocked his attack with the shield and when the Sliver struck the Shard, the Shard was shattered into many pieces. The battle ended with Greygor falling into a pit of lava (that was created by one of Greygor's spells) and was seemingly destroyed (when in fact he had transformed into mist). After Greygor's defeat, the 7 largest pieces of the Shard were placed into the pommels of swords. Many of the smaller pieces were embedded into the tips of arrowheads to create Arrows Of Undead Slaying. The Sliver was nowhere to be found after the battle.

Following Greygor's return, the 7 swords were hidden in separate locations across the mainland to keep Greygor from finding them. This will all eventually become part of the mod, with quests related to finding the swords and/or preventing Greygor from finding them. But it may be quite some time before I get into that.

Name : Saevel Verque

Gender : Male

Occupation : Hunter, Tracker, Slave Trader

Attributes (stats) : Strength : 9, Agility : 10, Intelligence : 10, Charisma : 6

Skills: Ironflesh : 1, Power Strike : 1, Power Draw : 2, Weapon Master : 1, Athletics : 1, Riding : 2, Tracking : 2, Pathfinding : 1, Spotting : 1

Proficiencies : wp_one_handed , wp_archery . These are the two that fit his back story but make them as you see fit.

Even though he is from the village of Chaeza he stays at the Town of Yalen, unless you can make him stay at Chaeza.

Face code : 0x0000000fec00039514ec30a49441aae300000000001c154d0000000000000000

I know this is quite long but I really got into making a back story for this character, sorry.

I was born in Chaeza, a village that borders the Elven/Goblin territories. It is there that I learned the skills of Tracking, Path Finding and Spotting, by my father. We would trade furs and meat to the surrounding Elven villages and Towns to help support our own village. At times, just before winter, we would venture to Curaw, a Goblin town, to sell furs for a much better price. This came at a great risk as the Goblins were quite prejudice against Elves but me and father were tolerated because of the quality of our furs.

One year we had a great season and father decided that we needed to split up in order to get the good prices for fur at Curaw and to sell meat to the Elves before winter hit. So reluctantly, I went to Yalen while father made his way to Curaw. After having bad luck at Yalen I headed for Veluca where I sold the rest then headed back home. I could not help this feeling gnawing at the pit of my guts. A feeling that sent shivers through my spine and tingled my head, it was almost dizzying. I worried about father.

As I was coming up the road that passed Chaeza, I looked up, I could see a dark plume of smoke in the distance. My heart pounded fiercely, trying desperately to leap from my chest. I immediately unhooked the horse from the cart and jumped on his back rushing to Chaeza, rushing towards the smoke.

When I finally arrived I realized I was too late. The village lay in ruins, bodies splayed here and there with arrows protruding from some and others simply gashed open from blades. I could smell the sweet scent of burning flesh combined with the wood from the houses. I dashed to my house only to find the rock walls left, nothing inside but black, hot ashes....... NOTHING INSIDE!! My eyes scanned the dead bodies scattered around... my mind screaming. Father?!.... Mother?! Where are they? After searching, for what seemed like a lifetime, I could find no trace of my parents. Sit, relax, look, I told myself.

THERE!! Leading out of the village on the backside was the signs of a rather large party, leaving. From the looks of it.... GOBLINS!! Damn it! I quickly grabbed one of the blades that lay discarded on the ground, a bent bow and pulled as many arrows out of the bodies as I could. I'll ask forgiveness and pay my respects later but now I needed to find my parents and whoever else was alive.....

It didn't take me long to find what I was looking for. They either didn't care for the trail they left or was too stupid to notice. Of course I didn't need the trail after a while since Goblins smell very rancid and that scent carries for some distance. Heh, no wonder they needed our furs, any animal with a nose could pick up their scent well before they got within bow range, nasty bastards. In my haste to rescue my parents I forgot all about scouts and was suddenly shocked as I watched a blurred, fading ground coming up to meet my face.

I woke to see my mother gazing down at me as she cradled and stroked my head. Father was there too, along with several female members of the village and only a handful of males. Father explained to me that while at Curaw he decided to go into the tavern to see if he could find more customers. Even though we were tolerated enough to sell furs to these beasts they thought it rather disgusting that an Elf would enter one of their establishments. The tavern keeper actually said something pertaining to the fact that he might as well burn down the tavern and build a new one, rather than trying to get the stink out. As father turned around to leave he accidentally bumped into Lord Harish and spilled his vile drink on his armor.

Father tried to apologize and even offered furs to cover the cost to have his armor cleaned but Lord Harish just starred and slowly smiled. Father left the furs and made his way out with Harish following, still grinning. He said that after leaving Curaw he took a longer way back to the village in order to try and lose anyone trailing him. He had thought all was good until the second night back. The Goblins came into the village, down wind, knowing full well how sensitive Elven noses are to Goblin scent. A fight broke out but the village Elves were no match for the battle hardened Goblins and killed most off while taking others as slaves.

Lord Harish is known for his hatred of Elves, Orcs, Dark Elves and Humans. As a matter of fact he hates everything and anything that isn't a Goblin. It had been rumored that he kept many slaves to work in mines and for his own disgusting, vile, evil, fighting matches. Pitting them against one another or against some soldier that needs practice.... sick. We were to find out that this would be not only a rumor but a true hardcore fact.

He sent most of the male Elves to the mines, females to satisfy his soldiers, mother was one of them. A few he kept for his sick games, including me and father. In order to get the unwilling ones to fight he had Mages that used a beserker spell, or a mind fog spell, to entice them into battle. Our turn came..... he put my father out in the arena..... then me. I felt the spell hit me and tried to fight it. My father had the look of one that was dead inside. He felt the blame of bringing this upon his own people, his family, The fact was he wasn't to blame, it was this distorted Lord with his hatred that was to blame. Father never even raised his blade to defend himself and I couldn't drop mine to stop myself from plunging it into him.

I spent several years being Lord Harish puppet, fighting Elves mostly as he seen what it did to me and he relished it. The result of my being reluctant at fighting and having the berserker spell turned on me time after time, caused my hair to turn white. I had finally managed to escape but had no idea where, in Goblins land, I was at. I did know that I had seen most of them come from the west, north and east was blocked by mountains so I headed south. Once I came upon a village I headed into a southwest valley until I came across another village, so I decided to investigate. Orcs, damn they were big and I had no idea how they felt about Elves so I gave them a wide berth. My fourth night out I finally ran out of luck. Lord Harish had sent out a small party to, I assumed, bring me back, boy was I wrong. They rushed me and had me tied up in no time, then the torturing began but I won't go into details.

At this time an Orc by the name of Gundehar happened to come across the Goblins little party they were having with me. Now I didn't know this but Orcs don't much care for Goblins but usually leave them be. The problem that these Goblins had on this night was that Gundehar lost a brother to a Goblin raid on a Orc village a few years ago. Gundehar vowed then that he would kill every last one of them he came across.... and this night was no different. After he was done, Gundehar turned to me and.... well I passed out.

I woke in an Orc village by the name of Ehlerdah, Gundehars place of residence. He too was a trader and was headed for Halmar for business when he came across my little get together with the Goblins. Gundehar, with the help of the village Elder nursed me back to health and I told him my story about how I happened to be in that particular situation he found me in. He offered for me to stay as long as I needed and would welcome the company if I joined him on his hunting quests. He not only hunted for furs and meat but also hunted Steppe Bandits as they plagued the nearby dunes and outer country side.

So joining up with Gundehar I also increased my skills in Power draw and Riding by hunting down those Steppe Bandits. I now stay in Yalen to offer my services and Gundehar travels but comes back from time to time. We are very close friends and I own that big guy my life but we each have our own destiny.

I'm a tracker by trade so if you need my assistance I would be more than willing to join your party. Especially if that means I get spill the blood of some Goblins.

At his home village of Chaeza

Ok got another one for ya'. Actually I have several more but this one is completed.

Name: Mu'allim

Gender: Male

Occupation: Horse Merchant at Ghubar

Attributes: Strength-7, Agility-9, Intelligence-10, Charisma-8

Skills: Ironflesh-1, Power Throw-2, Riding-2, Horse Archery-2, Trainer-2, Inventory Management-1, Trade-2

Proficiencies: wp_1handed and wp_throwing but again do as you see fit.

Face code : 0x0000000e36006256258b35d92cd61aec00000000001dc95d0000000000000000

Mu'allim was born in the village of Dirigsene. One day, at the age of four, he was the subject of an entire village search as he had come up missing. A feint laughter was heard by one of the villagers, coming from the stables. Upon opening the door many were surprised to see Mu'allim in the pen of one of the most feared horses in the stables. There was this massive steed nuzzling Mu'allim and he laughing with enjoyment. From then on no one could keep Mu'allim from the horses so it was decided that he would learn to train them by the guidance of the village horse merchant. Or one could say that Mu'allim would be teaching the horse merchant a thing or two.

Another important event happened when he was around eleven years of age. As he and the horse merchant were headed for Dunecrest, for some business, they were attacked by Bandits. Mu'allim became enraged when he seen his beloved Master take an arrow directly to his chest. Mu'allim leaped up on a mount, dug in his heels and started circling the bandits. Making sharp turns here and there along with bursts of speeds from the mount, the attacking bandits couldn't get a direct hit on either the horse or it's rider. Mu'allim rode close to one Bandit, grabbed a throwing spear from his pack and made a quick dash away. Turning the mount around, he headed directly towards the group of Bandits with an ever increasing speed. Even though Mu'allim was young and not very strong the momentum from the speed of the horse allowed his thrown spear to to kill the first Bandit with a dead shot to the chest. The mount crashed into the rest of the Bandits, breaking a leg on one and dazing the others. Mu'allim reached down and pulled out the protruding spear then dashed away again. Once he got the distance he needed he turned the mount to face the confused Bandits. A sharp whistle and the mount was headed for the Bandits once again. They looked up in awe as this young boy, face twisted with rage and grunting mount beared down on them. Spear thrown another bandit down, this one to the head and Mu'allim was thrown from the horse as it took an axe to a leg. By this time a passing Valorian Lord had decided to intervene and sent his mounted troops to engage the rest of the Bandits.

Mu'allim and his Master was taken to Dunecrest where they were treated for their wounds. Unfortunately his Master only lived long enough to make sure Mu'allim would inherit his trade, if he so desired. Mu'allim headed back to Dirigsene to continue his horse training and to become a well known horse merchant in Ghubar. He continued to practice the art of horseback riding and fighting from horseback in order to counter the bandits that roamed the country side.

Here's another one before I'm off to work.

Name: Tami but also nicked named Tomi

Gender: Female

Occupation: Works at the Tavern in Tulga

Attributes: Strength-6, Agility-8, Intelligence-9, Charisma-7

Skills: Ironflesh-1, Power Strike-1, Athletics-3, Looting-3, Inventory Management-2, Trade-2

Proficiencies: wp_1handed and wp_firearms but again do as you see fit.

Face code : 0x000000000200200714ea38a49441aae300000000001f470b0000000000000000

Tami grew up in the streets of Wercheg. Being a tomboy and picked on because of her boyish looks, Tami obtained the nickname of Tomi. Her parents owned the local Tavern and were usually there most of the time not only serving but also sampling the beverages they provided. Because of her not really having any guidance growing up, Tami/Tomi learned how to take care of herself. Mainly by pickpocketing patrons in the tavern or waiting for them to leave and picking the ones most drunk. On the streets she was able to pickpocket the person and dash off into the shadows before they knew what happened.

As she entered her teens she started to help, well not so much as help but take over, the tavern. Her parents, mindless that they had a daughter to take care of, were either drunk or passed out most of the time. She also became quite adept to listening in on the local patrons as her looks allowed her not to stand out. She was able to pick up on rumors, trade information, gossip and anything else that someone with a loose tongue would tell in whispers.

One night, in her late teens, a stranger happened into the tavern. Now Tami was use to strangers but this one had a different look about him. As she listened to him speak, with some of the patrons, she heard him tell that he was a sailor. He told of far off lands, strange creatures and people.... Tami listened in awe. Then he mentioned why he was here, he was looking for young lads that would like a life of adventure. He said that he would be staying at the village of Rebache and that his ship was just off the shore near Jelbegi Castle. Anyone wanting to come should be at Rabache village within the next three days and from there they will go to his ship.

That same night Tami tried to talk to her parents about joining up with the stranger but they were to drunk to care. Then again being drunk wasn't the excuse and Tami knew this, they just didn't care. That made up her mind, no hugs, no good-byes, no tears, she packed her things and left. She knew that she would have to disguise herself as a boy, which wouldn't be hard for her but she would also have to keep herself from being noticed by anyone that knew her. She waited until the last minute before they parted and blended in with the small group.

She spent four years on the seas learning different trade routes and how to barter for goods. She also learned how to fight with a blade and shoot a pistol, which she was very good at. She eventually was found out and almost thrown overboard but the Captain was a superstitious one. Even though he felt it bad luck to have a female on board it was worse to dispose of one to the sea, so they dropped her off at the next port.

She ended up in Tulga, an Orc town. Not knowing what to do she headed for the local tavern and asked for a job. At first the tavern owner laughed but as she told of her knowledge in trade he had second thoughts. He didn't see any harm in giving her a trial period and hired her on.

Once again here's another

Name: Dr. William McClure

Gender: Male

Occupation: In any goods market shop, in one of the Morte towns

Attributes: Strength-5, Agility-5, Intelligence-12, Charisma-10

Skills: Wound Treatment-3, Surgery-3, First Aid-3, Trade-2

Proficiencies: Pole arms

Face code : Refer to picture with balding head

He was once a well known Doctor and herb specialist in the town of Narra. After becoming infected with a flesh eating bacteria, William became shunned by the community he once loved and cared for. Leaving his family behind he set off in the direction of the Morte territories in hopes of finding a cure. Over time William was able to stop the spread of the infection, on himself, but was not able to reverse it. He was also able to stop the infection from spreading from person to person. The only community that would accept someone in his condition was the Morte, so he decided to place roots there, still hoping to find a cure and once again return to his family.

Since the Morte have no need for a Doctor, William set up a goods shop in order to fund his ongoing research. He is highly skilled in Wound Treatment, Surgery and First Aid. Having a shop of his own has led to his minor expertise in the Trade of goods. William is charming and intelligent but lacks in any combat skills. If the need of combat arises he prefers to use a blunt staff so as to not seriously hurt someone, he definitely doesn't like killing anyone. He respects all life and would do anything to see his family once again.

Hopefully by placing William in a Morte town makes it a little harder to recruit him into a players party. This is, of course, relying on the conditions that the player has a negative relationship with the Morte. He is also put into the goods shop since this is usually not a place the player will actually walk into and instead, use the menu most of the time for a shortcut. Plus this fits his back story perfectly for him to continue his research.

Hi I'm William McClure. You may remember me from such films as "Honey, I Gave Our Baby Flesh Eating Bacteria" or "I'm Not A Zombie, This Is Just A Mask".

Seriously though, those are some good ideas. So far I like Saeval and Troy...I mean William McClure the best out of the ones you've posted.

Thanks Keedo, yea those two are my favorites also. You'll have to forgive me on not understanding the joke as I haven't watched tv in the past 10 years. But if my Googling was correct I believe you were referring to the character, Dr. Troy McClure from the Simpsons but I could be wrong :$

I do have more ideas for characters but I don't know if I'm overdoing it. I love creating characters, in case you haven't noticed ;) .

Here is a picture of two sisters that I was working on. Again, you'll have to forgive the photo editing as I am quite new to it. The shadow on the farther sister had to be done by hand so it will look out of place.

In the development of these two sisters I had the idea that they would also be very hard to obtain. Their story isn't completed but even if you don't need/want them I'm going to finish it. Even I don't know where it's leading to, lol.

Auninath seems like he might make a good addition. The only problem is that of his origin. One thing that was left out of the Background Story for the mod, is that Wayland was eventually assassinated by a shape-shifting minion of Greygor's named Falcon Redgrave.
You know, you should really put more of the background story on the forum. I mean, I still have no idea where the heck the Megumi Dynasty came from. Nevermind why Kastor wants to overthrow Greygor (which I already helped him do) :P

Maybe I'll do that someday soon. But to be honest, Kastor and Megumi Dynasty were not part of the original story. The true original story was the D&D campaign that I ran involving Enrick (the player character that most of the campaign was focused on because the other players...well lets just say they weren't that good at staying in character....a paladin who thought it would be a good idea to abandon his party to go into a dungeon to search for treasure, for example...he died). Enrick was a prince who didn't really like being a prince so he hung out in taverns in disguise with his friends the..."paladin", a thief, and an assassin. An odd group to say the least. In the early part of the campaign they were constantly hounded by Vigo, who happens to be Greygor's son (but that's a complicated matter), and Falcon Redgrave (the shapeshifter who frames Enrick for Wayland's murder). ANYWAY....long story short....Years after we stopped playing I started writing a "prequel" to the campaign that focused on Wayland and Greygor, and their origins. So there were never really any other kingdoms mentioned. As for Kastor, when I added him to the mod, it was mainly because each kingdom needed a pretender. And Kastor was meant to be the abusive uncle Greygor killed after the death of his mother when he began his descent into evil.

But yeah, I'll try to get this all written up into a more organized and readable backstory.

Skills: Engineering-3 (if possible, more, as he is famous for it), Trade-2, Persuasion-2, Tactics-2, Looting-1, Path-finding-1
Profiencies: Crossbows and 1-handed melee (daggers) fit him most
Face: Well I did make one, but I can't get the code to do anything more than show up.
Backstory: He's a goblin. A very sinister, manipulating, highly intelligent, greedy, and thus creative goblin. A veteran and a thief. He is famous for his abilities in constructing siege weapons.

As for gear I'd suggest giving him some light-weight armor, a basic crossbow, and a dagger.

He grew up in Uxkhal, abandonned early by his parents, as a thief who had to steal in order to stay alive. He did this a bit other than the other thieves though, not making use entirely of threats, daggers and sneaking, but instead he made use of things he invented himself. Because the citizens and guards were paying their attention to watching out for traces of the classical thieves, Nimchau could easily steal from stores and people without them even noticing it. However, he grew more and more greedy, and because of this he was dropping his guard more and more while the guards became aware of his methods. He was caught when robbing a general goods store, and thrown into prison. After a month or two a soldier came to him and told him he could eighter join the army, or die a dead through torture. He chose for life, and came to serve Lord Naldera as a soldier. Lucky as he was, he was given a crossbow instead of a sword to fight with. As the goblins were at war with the elves comming from the north, the troops of Lord Naldera often had to retreat, and, because Nimchau he had the close-range warriors block the path of the elves as he ran.

This war went on for about two years, and as the goblins were near to defeat, King Yaroglek grew increasingly desperate to block the elves on their march to the capital. Although the elves did have some setbacks at certain points on their campaign, they could when beaten quickly retreat to Yalen to regroup and launch another assault.

...The two other Lords sent on this mission had already retreated, and now Lord Naldera has suffered severe wounds from the last skrimish aswell. "Well, atleast the elves still don't know that we're so close to them. As long as we have the element of surprise, we might win." he had said. Personally I thought him mad. While it was true that the elves in Yalen didn't know of our approach, with the number of capable soldiers we had left, the chances of our survival were next to zero if we did attack. And yet we marched on.
After a three days we could see the elven city of Yalen. Others had spit when they first saw it, and had a look on their face that said: "Finally, we will have our revenge on those infernal elves". I looked at them and thought: "It must be the heat, or the lack of fresh water, that drives all of them mad. Surely a sane being can't be stupid enough to think we could actually take the city".
We attacked the city a day later. It was ironic, that the forests that had given the elves protection over the centuries would eventually be used against them in the way they always used it: for surprise attacks. The first volley of arrows and bolts caught the bored guards completely unaware, and they died en masse. Now it was up to our catapults (I still can't believe we got those through the forests without being noticed) to destroy the wall, as there was no gate on this side of the city wall. More guards were popping up and they managed to take down most of siege weapons with arrows set ablaze. And with the wall still too much intact than was possible from the boulderhits it took, I was growing desperate once again. The three catapults we had left launched their boulders toward the walls once again, and, to my surprise, the wall crumbled (be it their magic finally wearing off or three hits at the right spots, I was lucky as ever) to a point were one more hit would make the wall passable for us. Then the unexpected happened. Elven mages, and I'm sure we killed all magic-users that were in Yalen, showed up, and with their fire magic, they destroyed two of our catapults and rendered the last one useless due to the rope being burned. A searing ray barely missed me, and burned a bit of my hair. I, still being a goblin (and they love to take revenge), steadied my crossbow, and hit the mage in question right in his leg. He fell forward, and of the wall, the contact with the ground they hold sacred killing him (my advice, never burn a goblin's hair). An engineer, already at the catapult with a new rope, was seen by an elf, and she put an arrow through his troat while he stood next to me, repairing the catapult. I stared at the dead engineer for a moment, and realised that the way the rope was to be attached to the catapult, was the same way I had once attatched a rope to a construction that could launch me to the rooftops after having robben a shop. I took the rope from his dead hands, and attatched it to the catapult, prepared it to fire, and launched the boulder still on top of it. The wall was destroyed, and we stormed the city...

The elves, now having lost their homebase, were quickly defeated, and the lands they had taken conquered back.

Nimchau was after the unprobable victory at Yalen promoted, and, now in his element, quickly rose through the ranks to a point were he constructed siege weapons. Much to his pleasure, as he was earning a lot of money, and the enemies of the goblin's died by his doing eventhough he wasn't present at the location in question.

The elves had, however, not been sitting still after their defeat in the mountains. And ten years later they had regrouped, crafted better weapons, and managed to get more soldiers in their ranks.

Nimchau was ordered by the King himself to construct a weapon that could ensure their victory over the elves once more. And he did as he was ordered. He build a machine that could fire ten arrows in the time a normal bow could only one, and it was operated by three men. This machine made the goblin army nearly invinceble. And, although the King needed such machines, he thought it was unhonourable to defeat the elves this way, and he dismissed the idea of the machines being used on the battlefield. Nimchau was furious (probably because he didn't get paid half of what he should've got) and said he would realise no further idea's untill this machine was accepted. As the elves were advancing faster then they did ten years ago, King Yaroglek grew desperate enough to use the machines anyway. The goblins were victorious, and Nimchau (still not having been paid enough) told the King he should've used his ideas from the start. The King got angry and had Nimchau replaced. Nimchau, now without a job, decided to leave the country and serve others so he could get his revenge.

Now, another ten years later, the conflict between the elves and the goblins settled down, and Nimchau, having given up on his revenge and is now driven only by the thought of money, has rekindled his sinister and manipulative nature, and is travelling from town to town in the hopes of finding employers who pay him handsomely for his famous skills. And, naturally, to rob rich shopkeepers.

It began when she was little, her village, nemeja was raided by bandits. Fortunatly there were a mercenary band passing through the village. All the villagers fled the town so the mercenaries could fight the bandits alone, but Lira stayed behind. Outside the village her parents were searching for her, and in the end they ran back to the village to look for her. Meanwhile Lira watched the bloody battle from a roof and thought the mercenaries looked awsome, then some bandits began fleeing at the might of the mercenaries. Then she saw her parents coming the same way as the bandits were fleing, she heard a scream coming from her mother as her father died in front of her. Then she was hit by a slaver and taken away. Since she lost her parents she had nothing holding her back and asked the mercenary band to take her with them, at first they tried to talk her from this but ended up accepting her. Because she was a girl, they did not want her to see the horrors of close combat, so they trained her in the way of the bows.

Her skills with the bow was incredible after just four months of training, and finally she got on her first mission. They were paid to suppress a lord that had betrayed the entire elven race. He had carved out his own little kingdom and gotten suppourt from the kingdom of Morte. As they were approaching the castle the inhabitants gave up instantly in the face of a superior force, but the lord left through a hidden passage. Lira was among the search parties, and then they found the lord but with him was a army of undead. Then she saw something shocking, in the back of the army some slaves were held and one of them was her mother. Then she screamed out and began shooting arrows, and she killed the lord instantly and alot of undeads along. Then one in her search party grabbed her and just as their hands touched Lira got alot of blood upon her, he died instantly as he was hit by a ballista. she began running, she finally got her calm back and saw what happened. The search party was dead and she was cut of from the castle.

After running away she got news that the castle the mercenary band was stationed at was leveled with the ground and everybody inside slaughtered by a surprise attack. She saw her fault all because she lost her calm, she vowed to become stronger and rescue her mother. She needed money, power and skills. Then Lira started selling her bow to everyone willing to pay the price. Mayby its you?
