Original Transformers was good, Original Transformers movie was, probably the best Animated series to Movie I've ever seen and still my favorite movie of all time for the past 22 years. Beast wars was good, beast machines sucked, and I don't like the newer anime series. I liked the old semi-humanoid looking bots. The new ones are huge pieces of metal with all kinds of panels and wings and crap that makes them look ugly. I haven't seen the NEW NEW series, based on the movie, but I've heard it is horrible.
As to the movie, I was torn. While I liked the LaBouf character and finally getting to see my childhood icons on the big screen I was sorely disappointed in the screentime the bots got and the design. I felt it was way too complicated and convoluted a design, to where it is hard to tell from scene to scene which Transformer is which. I will definitely go see a sequel but I hope it is more about the Transformers and less about humans.
