I'd have to agree with Dani on this one. I'm not going to begrudge anyone an opinion here, but we are the anime community that enjoys the campy, cartoony feel of anime, even when applied to a live action movie. For a movie to do well with critics, and the box office, it must be one that the general public can enjoy. Just because many people here enjoyed it doesn't mean the public will, especially with the fact that it was born from (and as pointed out, faithfully adapted from) a decades old cartoon that didn't do very well in the first place.
I'm just saying, guys, don't discount the public just because they didn't like it, everyone has their opinions.
