Well, went to see it yesterday, and it was a PACKED HOUSE. Every seat in the theatre was filled, me and my firends were lucky enough to even find seats, even though they were in the front row. I was very surprised, and happy, with the turnout.

Now, I'd never seen the movie before, so I was pretty excited. Overall, the movie was all right. The acting could have been better in some points I'd say. The dubbing of course, could have been better. The scene where Shiori dies was just sooooooo badly done. It looked so fake, everyone was actually laughing. :D But the voice actors themselves sounded good. Brian Drummond did an excellent job as always with Ryuk. There was one really memorable part when Light discovers the broken pencil lead. Ryuk then says, "Looks like you're in deep sh*t!" Which lead to raucous laughter from the audience, it was great.

The only thing Ithat didn't sit too well with me about the actual movie though, was having Light actually kill Shiori. On one hand, this further expounds on Light's callous character, showing he has no remorse for anything. But on the other, in the original story, Light does not want to kill innocent people, and will only use pople that are in his way. How was Shiori in his way? Would Light really do something like that? Just something to think about I guess.

Anyways, if you do get the chance tonight, go see it. It's great to be in the theatre with other big fans of the series, and it's just plain awesome to see Death Note on the big screen.
