The next is Howard Shore. He composed the score for Lord of the Rings and The Aviator. Both wonderful works. He wrote some fun dramatic pieces for Dogma and the score for the Cell and Philadelphia. Both of those works were well woven into the stories and accented them beautifully. I think he would also do a fine job with a DBZ score.
He also did Ed Wood I believe.
Another name is Michael Giacchino. He does the score for the Medal of Honor series (2002's Medal of Honor: Frontline having one of the best video game scores I've ever heard). You may think that the guy can only do video game soundtracks, but you'd be wrong. The Medal of Honor score is already more movie-like than many movies.
