Well, firstly, youtube junkies are the last thing you should be basing a fanbase on. True fans of a series have more to do than sit on youtube all day ripping on people.

That's not to say I like Naruto, I truly don't. I own uncut seasons 1-3 and they are...entertaining...but really, I don't understand what the big deal is that got this show so big. There are so many overdrawn characterisations, storylines and cliches that I can't event watch anymore. The characters are so one dimensional and cliche:

Naruto - underdog that always gets beat on, gets pissed off, comes back and wins somehow.
Sasuke - Badass semi-villain that learns to find deep friendship in his "rival".
Sakura - brains behind the brawn that freezes and does nothing usefull...EVER!
Kakashi - arguably the only character I really like, but still cliche: mysterious teacher whos past is revealed little by little.
