You really need to see the anime Rob. One of the best of all time, IMO.
And yeah, if they don't sign Yoko on, I will boycot. There is no other way you can do it. I'd even be satisfied if they just used the music from the old OSTs.
I'm a little worried to see the cast choices and director choice. So much of hollywood lately is either huge action explosion, dark thriller, or epic movie feel, I don't know if there is anyone around anymore who can do a relaxed, laid back movie, with action spurts and lots of non-dark drama. As well, they need a blank slate for Spike. Find someone who is a good actor, not well known, but well versed in Jeet Kun Do or Capoiera. I guess my main fear is they will try to take one facet (the space fights, the martial arts, etc.) and emphasize on it too much. The beauty of Bebop was that it was a rounded out melting pot of all the elements, none overpowering the others really.
