Getting others involved would be great, but it just seems highly unlikely given the technology limitations and geographical distances between members. I mean, it works for the LAA podcast, but we're video. It's a bit more tricky. Plus, for now we're trying to establish an identity, a foundation, and viewership. One we've cemented those, worrying about guest members and such would come after.

I remember you once asked about being a guest member. I know I asked Oak about it, but I forgot where he stood on that. Maybe he could post that here.

For me, I think once we're done maybe Webcast #4, if we're technologically capable, you can record some footage or a voice sample or whatever and we can try to interact with that or something. Maybe interweave it with our own discussion. Assuming you're still interested, which given the reception I doubt a bit.
OK, here's the deal on technology: We're sticking with video only, and we don't have that neat screen-shift stuff they can do on the nightly news. Basically, Volchok and I are a two-man team for as long as we're doing live video. (It was different back when we were trying to do podcast. Then we could have done it through Skype.)

If anyone wants to send in video questions, we'll include them. All you have to do is load the video-question up to Youtube. During the webcast, we'll turn the webcam to face the monitor (LCD, so you won't have to worry about that CRT refresh rate stuff) as it displays the youtube page with your video.

Links to these video questions should be sent to TheGreatOak@gmail.com for the time-being. We make no promises on answering your question, and we don't want you to take it the wrong way if we don't acknowledge your question.

To raise your chances of a video-question being included:

1) Keep it relatively short -- remember, the webcast has a physical limit of 10 minutes on Youtube. A five-minute question probably won't go over well with us. (However, if you would like to post a lengthy video for us to reply to or comment on, send us the link and we may talk about it during the webcast and post an annotation on the uploaded webcast with the link to your video.)

2) Keep it decent. Nothing lewd/perverted. I'm not Puritanical, but I am rather conservative in what I will say or do. So: nothing about sexual intercourse of any kind, nothing about the reproductive organs of humans, nothing insulting towards other members of the Forum, etc. Out of all the questions asked in this thread so far, all seem to be OK except one (sorry, Ms. D). Actually, there might be another one or two that I can't remember, but the I know the majority are OK by my standards.

3) Keep it interesting. If you ask me to do the derivative of 32(cos(x))^2, I very well may, but we're not going to post it on the webcast. (Maybe we'll post the answer. Maybe.)

Guest members coming on to the show is something that's not going to happen unless we go on the road. Otakon is the most likely time and place for that to happen. Then, by all means, we'll interview and tape as much as possible, provided that we actually go there. (Volchok and I are definitely interested, but we can't plan our schedules that far in advance. We'll know more in a couple of months.)
