^Well, yeah, I guess so. I might as well not bother with the film's soundtrack when there will be so many more, better reasons to hate it.  But anyway, it's one thing for a composer to collaborate with another musician on a soundtrack. Hans Zimmer did it with Lisa Gerrard for Gladiator, in my opiion the best soundtrack I've ever heard. It's wholly another thing for an alternative rock track to accompany an action sequence. It just doesn't work. If it's present in a musical montage, then fine, but it just gets in the way when it comes to continuity editing. That's just how I feel about it, anyway.
Its not an alternative rock song, Linkin Park isnt Alternitive rock, they where Nu-Metal and now are Hard Rock, if you followed there music you would know. And if you heard the song New Divide you may have a diffrent veiw, being the song sounds like its part of the movie, i didnt even notice it when watching the Trailor for the movie, did you?
