Tom McLoughlin, b. 1950, is an American screenwriter and director of film and television. He is most well known for writing and directing Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. McLoughlin's inclusion of wry humor and nods to various Universal Studios and Hammer Studios horror films led to the film being one of the most popular installments of the Friday the 13th (movie) series, as well as the film receiving reviews more positive than most films in the series.

Born November 6th of 1970 in Mexico City, Laborde begun his career with a home video titled "El Gato" (The Cat) which took him from 1988 to 1992 to make. By 1995 he would make his first major work, Utopia 7. In 1997 managed to make Angeluz, which would be his top work and a surprising horror movie due on how it was handled despite its low budget.
