DBZ Movie Titles; Name the Movies - Fun

Battle Angel Posts: 285 Group: Members Member #855 Joined: September 2, 2007	I think what was great about LOTR is that there was so much back story that we DIDN'T know. We found things out throughout the course of three movies. And there is still things we don't know, and thats why The Hobbit is being made. Same thing can be said about Star Wars. I think the movie should start at the beginning of the Saiyan saga, with maybe a flashback or two explaining Goku and the Dragon Balls. I also think the movies should be a trilogy, but focusing only on The Sayain/Freiza saga. I think this is the best and strongest saga of the entire series, and has the potential to make an epic sci-fi adventure. The Buu saga is just too ridiculous to be adapted to the screen, and the Android saga, while good, lacks any real story other than a tournament against a strong man with no motive. Dragonball Z - The Beginning of the Saiyan Saga. I don't think a title is needed. Dragonball Z II (Z2) - I think they can go the X-Men route and market the film as Z2. This film will continue from the last movie with our heroes heading out into space. Dragonball Z III (Z3) - This will be the final chapter of the series. All loose ties will close. After the success of these 3 films, then I think a prequel should be in order. Simply titled Dragon Ball. This film should show the origin of Goku and how he met Roshi, Bulma etc. I think Dragon Ball should be kept to a single film with the main villain being King Piccolo/Piccolo Jr.

It was only put in there to differentiate the anime. The manga was called Dragonball all the way through. Some people might think the Z is a 2. And I still think they should start with Dragonball. My reasons have been stated before anyone that really wants to know can't go back a few pages.

Fox felt that the name 'X-Men' HAD to be in the title, and thus creating one of the worst superhero movie titles ever: 'X2: X-Men United'. I feel like the same thing will happen here. Though I agree with you. I'd much rather there be no Z.

Almost every person has seen an episode of Dragonball Z. They should just name the first movie "Dragonball Z". Seriously- almost every person, as a kid, has seen the Saiyan saga (when Raditz, Vegeta and Nappa are introduced). That's what I watched. That is what I remember. And this is coming from someone who as NEVER read a single page of the manga.

I feel like a DBZ movie lasting more than three films will lose its spark. Of course, the Freiza saga can easily be packed into 2 films, while the third is devoted to the android saga. But I'd feel like that 3rd film would than feel disconnected from the first two. :/ EDIT: I just had a thought, which I'm sure has been discussed before. It would be cool if at the end of film 2, after Freiza is killed and everyone returns home the movie could end with a clif hangerish ending with Trunks appearing with "a message for Goku". That would at least connect the Android saga to the previous films in some way.

That way their can be even MORE excitment for the movi!

Buu, on the other hand, is a great way to test new effects and new ideas, I just hope they don't kiddy it up
