According to Dark Horizons: Quote: New Regency is close to a deal with the Mark Gordon Co. to adapt popular 1980s Japanese animated TV series "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" into a live-action film reports Variety. Justin Marks is penning the script, described as a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico. Five ragtag survivors of an alien attack band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth's invaders. Marks is also adapting "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" for Joel Silver at Warner Bros., "Street Fighter" at Fox and the Green Arrow pic "Supermax" for Warners. Another Mecha Movie hits the big screen.

MAX MAKOWSKI http://latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-we-know-who-is-directing-voltron-5295 Apparently he directed a really cool film that showed at sundance called One Last Dance. He's also directing the remake of Kung Fu. AND he also directed Queer Eye for the straight guy. That last one maybe not so exciting.

Playoff Mutton Chops Posts: 6,212 Group: Head Admin Member #8 Joined: April 9, 2006	Queer Eye for the Giant Robot. Might we be seeing this on Bravo in the fall? But really, glad to hear more going on with this project. I can't wait to hear a little bit more on how they'll actually adapt the story for the movie. Will Sven still be present, or will the Princess have control of the blue lion from the beginning?
