That would be nice.

Hans Zimmer or John Williams are good choices too.

Danny Elfman, quite honestly, is not the best choice... he is a little too repetitive.

yea those are good, I would still like if they model it off of the american soundtracks, cuz thoses are banging themes. especialy vegeta's themes.

Trevior Rabbin (The One)
Tyler Bates,(300)
Hanz Zimmer( A whole lots of good sh*t)

Well, I bet they will hide an original song into the soundtrack somewhere, inside one of their own creations. But, Bruce Faulconer is not my cup of tea. Some of his songs are catchy and sound nice, but most of them sound like he was just playing random notes over a drum machine.

I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned Raymond Wong (Shaolin s*ccer, Kung Fu Hustle)

Other Suggestions:

Vangelis (Chariots of Fire, Blade Runner, Alexander)

Harry Gregson-Williams (Metal Gear Solid, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven, Shrek the Third)

The best thing would be if they re-orchestrated the original Japanese score. A good choice for that would be the Eminence Orchestra because they actually focus of covering anime and video game soundtracks and they will actually put some love into re-orchestrating the score

Eminence Website

*obviously I am dreaming and in the end they will probably just get some third rate Hollywood blockbuster composer to do the score or maybe even Bruce Falconer but hey, a man can dream right?*

^I agree very much. A remade version of the Japanese themes mixed with some of the better US edition ones could be perfect, but yeah we probably won't get that, lol

that's what i was saying 2 pages ago!

Myself
two pages before this one
i think they should use also the original music from the anime (obviously they should remix it and make it more modern/serious/epic)
:trunks:
Omnia enim stolidi magis admirantur amantque,
inversis quae sub verbis latitantia cernunt,
veraque constituunt quae belle tangere possunt
auris et lepido quae sunt fucata sonore.

Indeed, the stupid most admire and love all
that is scarcely discernible, hidden by abstruse words,
and accept as true all things that sweetly caress
the ear, and that are masked by a pleasant sound.

in pirates of the caribbean and the haunted mansion they used bits of the original rides' soundtrack. so it COULD happen
Omnia enim stolidi magis admirantur amantque,
inversis quae sub verbis latitantia cernunt,
veraque constituunt quae belle tangere possunt
auris et lepido quae sunt fucata sonore.

Yeah, I knew you already brought it up but I thought I would add a possible orchestra... and plus I only half agree on the concept of remixing it. Some of the themes should just be kept as is, such as the original battle theme. That's already dramatic/epic enough and would automatically sound modern just because of the superior sound quality they would get from re-recording it.

But my personal belief is that they will use some of the American dub music... since this is an American movie aimed mostly at fans of the dub. I personally very much dislike the American score but lot's of people on this thread seem to like it a lot so I won't go on about it.....

I'm not a fan of Bruce Faulconer by any means, but I hate people who dismiss him because it's midi. That pisses me off.

If you wanna hate a song, hate it for it musically. Not for its method of recording. (And besides, this film would be orchestrated. Not midi).

I agree. If you don't personally like midi does that automatically make everyone who composes using midi a crap composer?

I've just finished a fan-made soundtrack, consisting almost entirely of songs I made while improvising on my computer and my actual piano. It's really just first draft demos, but so what I'm not selling it or anything. I doubt I will re-do any of them since most of it is improv.

I'll post a few tracks here and there. I'm not creative at all at naming things. Click to download.

1. Intro (this song is really messy especially the ending but I like a few parts. The end couple minutes or so is kind of making fun of Bruce Faulconer's style, though it sounds worse than his since I'm not trying.)
2. Cell Attacks! (Or, in this case, Piccolo)...
3. Death (I wish I could go back and perfect this song, but I just can't. I need to be in the perfect mood. Could be a lot better).
4. Tribute to King Cold (Very simple tribute to him :P I had a more crazy piano version but it was too long)
5. Mystery of Ballz (really simple guitar-sounding song, meant to be used for background music. Played this during a scene in Dragon Ball where Roshi is talking. So, this is kind of boring without video).

All songs are M4A format. You might need VLC media player, iTunes, or QuickTime to play them. Made on a Mac.

I'm not especially proud of them, after all I just made them as I was playing, but I did have fun banging my keyboard on some of the parts. More to be added whenever I feel like it... this post is more for me than anything, since I am reformatting my hard drive soon and I need some place to put them.

I have a list of about a million songs not made by me that could work in a DBZ movie :P not gonna list them all.

i suggest using, instead of piano, strings and/or oriental instruments (kind of like in POTC3 in the Singapore scenes)

anyhow id' like to hear this and this played by a serious orchestra for the movie.
