Alright, Poets, I like to not reveal the writers of each poem until this is over, and people please try not to guess who is who!
 Poets you are allowed to vote in this. ALRIGHT! GET VOTING! ai betsuriku (for Inuyasha) Cherry blossoms fill the air like snow, pink and sweet. They drift down to make a carpet, soft and fragrant, for his feet. He thinks of her and wonders, is she home, safe and warm in bed? A world away, yet so close. On a soft and downy pillow rests her head. He thinks he hears her voice, her laughter, like the twinkling stars in the sky overhead. He smells the perfume of her hair, but it is only the cherry blossoms on the ground where he has tread. He stops and watches the cresent moon on the edge of the world as it slips away. The stars lose their luster and begin to fade. The beginning of a new day. As the sun warms his back, he goes to their place. Run, skip, jump, fly quickly! His heart has wings! Their place is empty, still. The fog mists around his ankles. The birds have just begun to sing. There he sits, crosslegged on the ground. Leaning against the cool, damp wood. The morning is full of delicious smells, but none of them is hers. He bows his head and rests, waiting, wishing to move time faster if he could. His arms feel empty and cold, even crossed over his chest. He longs to feel her warm cheek pressed against his chest as he holds her. Wait! He starts! The perfume of her fills the air. Had he dozed? Was he only dreaming of her? This is no dream. He takes her tiny hand in his and pulls her up to him. He looks into her eyes, searching, heart, soul. He feels warm and whole again. He is sure. Sure this flame that burns within shall never dim. Lost Paradise Promised a paradise, I was never given, Everything lost, no longer driven. Lost in the dark shallows of the wasteland, Where tears are as numerous as the sand. Alone I wander contemplating the choices I made, I come to realize it was all because I was afraid. In This vacant desert the flowers refuse to bloom, The sun hides behind the clouds, and the gray sky gloom. The water no longer flows, the streams gone dry, Alone I remain, with no one to hear my cry. With each step I take, my foot prints disappear, I slip farther away from reality and closer to fear. Weariness takes a hold of my weak soul, My mind in a blur, I begin to lose control. In this vacant land I continue to wander alone, Forever walking in the unknown. The Crow Flys Again My name was Eric, I died so long ago, the devils were rapping at my door, late at night just looking for another fight, and I knew it was time to go, my city was filled with fright, a gang of thugs that ruled the night, I can hear the voices inside of my head, feel the pain that I was meant to feel, I feel so far down, and than I knew that it was all over, beneath the dirt, in a wooden box is where I lay, the world has changed, since the day that I died, but I knew it wouldn't be long, until I would live again, and defend the innocent, that died that night as well, my wife, my lover brutally killed, I knew what I had to do, vengeance was the only answer, to my quest that had began, I heard you tapping on my chamber walls, your beak rapping against my gravestone, and I knew it was time, for me to come alive once again, your feathers as black as night, your eyes the guiding light of my soul, I heard you calling my name, and I knew it was time, The Crow flys again into the night, The Crow Flys Again, trying to put it right, The Crow Flys Again, in the darkest of night, the devils whispered my name, as I slowly raised from my resting place, digging myself through the earth, the I was buried beneath, the air so cold, and so crisp, I was alive again, I've seen your face before, I've heard your name, the angel of death, the reincarnation of my former self, so what must I do? death is on its way tonight, and it has a familiar face, one that you've seen so many times before, I shall spread my wings and fly again, The Crow Flys Again, Into The Night, The Crow Flys Again, Putting The Wrong thins right, The Crow Flys Again, Into The Darkest night, I'm back on earth again, but I won't rest until I have you again, in my arms again and I'll be whole again, I saw the stairway to heaven and you were standing at the gates, but know I must do my duties, and make it right, I must find the people that hurt us, and make them pay, vengeance is the only way, for us to be with each other again, tonight it will be all said and done, tonight death will come for them, so lets take flight once again, with you my old friend, The Crow Flys Again..... Otakon Sonnet We arrived at the airport on Thursday The passengers unboarded the flights The weather was very nice I must say I prayed my friends got in alright. Our Utah friend was very tame He seemed to have a good flight. We all headed to baggage claim Well enough his bag was quite light. Nick from Chicago was next to arrive He was taller than I thought! Originally, he had planned to drive. I don’t remember what he brought. Finally, the Prince arrived. Or so he claims to be. I’m very happy he survived My tackle hug and jumping spree. We had such a wonderful weekend Wearing costumes and shopping galore. How sad it had to end And how I pray for many more. |

Difficult but I'm gonna have to give my vote to Otakon Sonnet. It's probably the tightest in terms of poetic form, and I like the originality and sense of humour it brings to the table. |

It was tough, but ultimately I decided on the Otakon Sonnet for nostalgia reasons. |

They were all good in their own way. I found Lost Paradise most interesting. |

i voted Otakon, because i just cant get into what the others are saying, call me anti-emo-poetry but poems about death and loss just dont appeal to me... and a poem about a manga really doesn't. |

"The Crow Flys Again," aside from the fact that it may well be infringing on a copyright of some sort, is more in the format of a song than a poem. Poems don't generally tend to have repeating lines or... erm... choruses. :ninja: |
