At least Stephen Spielberg likes Ghost in the Shell! Actually that stereotype is about to be nixed. Dreamworks has announced that ALL its movies after I think it's Sept of next year, or this year, are going to be "Stereophonic 3D".

I've heard things about it, but I don't completely understand why this is supposed to be so amazing. Anyways, I'm excited to hear that this is being done, and that Spielberg is a big GitS fan. I'm curious though if they'll be basing this strictly off the manga, the SAC series, or the movies themselves. I personally favor the SAC series because we get to see more than just Kusanagi. I loved seeing the histories behind smaller characters like Saito and Pazou, and hope that all of Section 9 is left intact for this film.

But yeah, looks like starting in '09 everything dreamworks will be 3-D including GitS and the upcoming Shrek goes Fourth

Are you saying you seriously need to wear 3D glasses still? i thought this "new 3D didn't need glasses. :huh: Regardless though, as long as the movie itself is good, I'll be happy. I think I'll need to brush up on the manga more if it's true they're going to basing it msotly off that.

Here's hoping it doesn't turn out the way the other anime adaptions we've been hearing about look.
