Hey guys, i had some suggestions for the podcast, and i thought that i should make an official suggestions thread. 1. Submit to iTunes I've said this many times in the official thread for LAA Podcast #1, but I think that you guys should submit the Podcast to iTunes, as it could really boost listenership and traffic to the site! 2. Plug the site more. In #1, you plugged the site once and that was it. It would be good to plug it as you begin, and as you end the show. Again, increase traffic. And also mention clicking the Forum link to join the great discussions that go on. 3. e-mail address Get an email address for us to send suggestions and stuff to. (it could be like liveactionanime@gmail.com) 4. Short intro Have a short intro before the music. (like "You're listening to the Live Action Anime Podcast Episode number 2") to let people know that the didn't accidentally go to the wrong podcast. Thanks for reading (if you do read it ;)) -Kuhan |

Good suggestions there Kuhan, several of which we're already working on. We defintitely want to get this submitted to ITunes, and hopefully will soon. We probably could plug the site more, probably the reason I didn't really think of doing it was because the only way anyone would find the link was if they already knew about our site. We actually do have an e-mail address and I'll post it here once I get what that address is. I've never used it so I don't remember what it is right now. And don't worry, after the intro I plan on saying what number podcast is currently being played. |

Yeah, like with Skype. also, it's simple to submit to iTunes. 1. Create an RSS feed of podcasts 1a. Enter RSS feed URL to http://www.feedburner.com/ 2. Go to the iTunes Store 3. Click submit a podcast 4. Enter the feedburner.com URL 5. Choose category and sub-category and cleanness and whatnot 6. Wait for iTunes to review your submission 7. You're done! Your podcast should soon be on iTunes Be aware, you need either an Apple ID or an AOL/AIM screen name to create a podcast. You could use one of these to creat an RSS feed URL: http://www.mypodcast.com/ http://www.podshow.com/ |

Now after getting on iTunes, would it be front-page advertised? Considering LAA is such a recondite interest I don't think people would go looking for it. But yeah I do think getting an aggregator for the podcast and distributing it on iTunes is a good idea. Speaking of which could we/should we/would we be able to pay to get LAA a wikipedia feature? Actually I believe a friend of mine has an administrative account on wikipedia. I'll see about that... |

you don't have to pay, you just have to have good third-party sources. Also, people search Anime a lot and would then find the LAA Podcast. |

I'm confused here. Isn't what we have right now an RSS feed? Or am I mixing it up with something else? |

an RSS feed means that someone could subscribe to it and would be notified when a new one is posted. also, if you have an rss feed, submitting it to feedburner and then using smartcast would allow you to make it more itunes compatible. this is the RSS logo Firefox 3 shows you that image to the left of a url with an rss feed linked to it. i don't see it anywhere. Also, add a podcast page to the main site. |

Ah OK. I'll look into that more once finals and everything are done for school. And yea, I am going to make a podcast page once we get the second one up, as well as probably a link to it in the Extras section. |

http://www.downes.ca/cgi-bin/page.cgi?post= you could also use one of the podcast services i mentioned earlier to make it easier (i recommend podshow, but you could google one.) here is a podcast hosting tutorial: http://www.how-to-podcast-tutorial.com/21-...ast-hosting.htm also, with feedburner, you can have the files with subscription options. for example, here is the feedburner page for my podcast, ComicCast: http://feeds.feedburner.com/comiccast |

I would suggest(yeah, I know I could do it in the staff board, but I just left there and got the idea here) that we dedicate one podcast to introducing the forum and site. Where we've been, where we're going, etc. For this, I would put forward a hope that we could get many of the staff members on board. I know I could probably take one day to get on and speak on my in-laws machine. I would love to have a bunch of members as well, but I would be afraid of playing favorites, as well as having too many people on the cast at once, thus I'd say keep it to staff for now. We could have a short interview with random forum members in future podcasts, maybe as a 1-2 minute aside. I would suggest doing this rather soon, just because if you are on Podcast 30ish and you are just now introducing the site, that's a bit illogical. |

I would suggest guest spots...such as the Vadakin rant
 It could range from members co-hosting, to sending in voice recordings of subjects they want to discuss or even doing quick promos. For example "Hey this is Vadakin and you're listening to the LAA podcast" or whatever. In terms of the structure of the podcast: Start with an intro, where the host says hello and welcome and tells the listeners what's coming up in the episode. Then move on to news...where you go over the latest news to hit the anime live action world. Then mailbag, where you answer questions from listeners sent in by email, speaking of which, set up a separate email for the podcast...don't use a current email because your inbox will be flooded, So have an address dedicated to the podcast. Then, a feature...this would be like I mentioned above...like "Vadakin rants" or something the hosts want to talk about that's not directly related to the news section, interviews with members and people within the anime world, if you can get them to agree to do it, You could rotate the feature section...one week would be a member rant, the next week would be an interview...the next week would be hosts discussing subjects, like greatest anime ever or whatever. Then wrap up the show, be sure to mention the site url and email address. Separate each section with some music...record each section separately by the way. And you're done. |

Well, we plan on using a mailbag soon in future podcats, that's a must. We'll come up with "features" along the way, as I'm sure we'll have many interviews and I have a few ideas of my own right now. I'd also like to implement more music, SFX, maybe even put in some music beds on some parts as well. So thank you for the suggestions Vadakin! Also guys, just remember that right now we're only having a few staff members on the podcast. And Stryyder, I don't want to spend too much time talking about the "olden days". I gave a brief history in the beginning of the podcast, so I hope that can suffice. Also, it seems like everyone wants to be on, but of course that'd be impossible! But as we progress and time moves on, I'm sure we'll have some members on as special guests.
