It is great quality and when I first saw it I thought wow this looks great and is going to help the film etc etc. But that wasn't the case. Instead i got very very very f***ing pissed off. Near bottom of the image you can see the licensing target the movie. It It said ages 6 - 12 and teens. I thought wtf. shouldn't db be made for M or MA audience. Seeing that has totally made me lose hope in the film. If you are going to see a trailer for this film it is most likely to be on a pg film (kiddie or stupid family flick). The dB i have seen and read has alot of violence and whatnot.

What do you think? :EHH?!: :EHH?!: :EHH?!: :EHH?!: :quite: :quite: :quite: :quite: :quite: :quite:

6-12 to Teens? Wasn't that how it was when it was in its prime, back in 98/99?

If more Adults have gravitated to Dragonball, then they probably would give it a PG-13 to R rating, but I don't think Dragonball could even get an R, so I would be fine with PG-13.

Anyway, I think that most fans of the series are, sad to say, kids to teens. It has to be that it's so huge among the kids today, and they're marketing the hell out of it with the "Remastered" sets and the Movie "Double Feature" DVDs.

So, if there were more "Adult" fans, the rating wouldn't be so "Kid-friendly". I really hope the movie isn't Kid-friendly so much that it gets a PG rating. That's just wrong.

Well said.

Why hire James Wong, an R-rated horror film director, to make a PG-rated movie!?

Obviously Fox's target was PG. I highly doubt the Mpaa has seen it, so that already means this isn't final however likely it will be. So, although its bleak, their still might be a chance pg-13 will be stamped. I wouldn't worry yet.

what is the source of the picture?

EDIT: After looking through this, it looks like Fox is licensing like toys and related merchandise, therefore 6-12 year-olds and teens do seem like the proper market. It's the same for lots of rated R movies. The movie isn't geared towards kids and teens, the licensed products are.

Now hold on a sec...i think that ur jumping the gun a little here. Now I know that it would be convenient to be pissed about FOX and all, but I think that ur misunderstanding it. The whole document is about the "Dragonball franchise," not the movie. The movie is part of it. I think that u can assume that when they say "licensing target" they mean the Dragonball franchise target. Which would make sense, right? It is a little unclear as most of these things are in the television and movie business. But I wouldn't get worked up about it. Also, the property highlights, another word for creative property, is listed below the movie section and is unrelated to it. But I could b wrong. In which case, lets face it, everyone here most likely watched it as a little kid, and we happen to still fans cuz we grew up with it and happen to stuck with it. Anyway, do you guys really thing that Wong would put in enough blood, gore, and curse words to turn it into a R film, when clearly the bulk of the audience will be below the age of seventeen.

Nobody gives a PG movie this kind of budget. They know the most money in the action genre comes from young adults so I doubt anyone who wants to make money would target this especially to kids. Anyway the person who wrote this article seems to know little if anything more than what any one can find on imdb or wikipedia. This may warrant concern but I don't think it's time to worry yet.

I think there's too much emphasis being put on an "unofficial" rating. Think about it. Dragonball has too much violence to be considered a PG film. What's more the impression I got from the article in terms of "License Target" wasn't that the movie would be geared towards the PG audience but that the series(in America i guess) was more in that field of play. I could be totally wrong but let's not get carried away over something that could go either way.

I'm still holding on to the hope that there are more official sources of information to come...I mean, PG rating...kids between 6-12....
If it were PG-13, I'd be happy. I mean, even the reviews for The Incredible Hulk advised adults not to show kids below a certain age.

"...but one can feel desperate at any age, don't you think? The young are eternally desperate. And books, they offer one hope - that a whole universe might open up from between the covers, and falling into that new universe, one is saved."
