Super Saiyan Posts: 2,711 Group: Members Member #166 Joined: July 5, 2006	What the title says. Let's come up with ideas because the designated money/rep thread has become a spam fest....(sorry ). Anyways, I got a couple or so, maybe more. What members can buy: Bigger avatar space - $200 Color in username - $500 Different font in username - $700 User title (also acquired with 3k posts I believe) - $200 sparkles 'n other custom things you can do with username - $900 Idk about the prices (too high?) and what the mods can actually do in terms of customizing other people's usernames. I think they can, and it shouldn't be too hard if they can. What do you think? And any other ideas? Also, I was talking to Aaron and he mentioned something about rep. It was basically suggesting the more posts/rep points you have, the more you can give. Like everyone can give 1 or take away 1 rep point from a member. He suggested (and I totally agree) that if you have a high post count and a lot of rep points, you can give or take away more than 1, like 2 or 3, it goes on as you get more rep points and posts. What do you think? I like the idea.

Sure- we do need to figure something that the members can get out of all of the money that is starting to build up. I like the color idea- but make sure that red and blue can't be used.

Usually you can't change things like that for an individual user, you can only change it for a whole group. That means they would have to create a whole bunch of mini user groups you could buy into and that might be too much work to keep track of. Only an admin who is familiar with the backend can tell you for sure, but any database like this one I'm worked with is group change not individual enyry change. I don't think I like the rep idea very much myself. Too much potential for abuse. If a member or members that teamed up against any other member for flame purposes or just plain being a jerk about it and wipe out a members hard earned rep points fast. I've already seen that happen with certain members on here already.

But yeah I kind of agree with you there as well. There should be consequences for rep abuse imo so it wouldn't get out of hand. I know we all love each other and all, but maybe staff should start to be more strict with bannings. like instead of warning someone who abuses rep or breaks rules, ban that member for 24 hours. Guarantee it won't happen again.

There are "shops" you can put in that will automatically give things like member name colors etc. The hard part will be finding one that is fully automated and will work with our money system. As for costs, I think yours may be too low Maf. Granted, member title is default other places, but we like to use it as more of a privelege. For us it is a way to encourage activity. Yeah, with the current state of the forum I think 3000 is a high post count, so I think maybe $750-$1000 would probably work (considering it hasn't even been a month yet and you already have 900+) As for the rep system, to give more rep priveleges based on post count, I'm not sure if that is possible. I haven't seen a rep program that lets you do that. On the topic of rep abuse, if we don't hear about it, we're not always gonna notice. If you guys see someone abusing the system then let us know. Just remember guys, most of these changes are not integral with Zetaboards. Most of these are codes made by other people, who are well knowledged about this system, that have very little margin for customizability beyond simple cosmetic appearances. We'll do what we can to find something similar to what you want, but it may not be possible.
