I edited to make it look darker. doesn't that remind you of Spike? Jet Black: Ron Pearlman or Bruce Willis. Both can wear a beard nice and they got the grimey look going on. I figure more Ron Pearlman then Bruce Willis because he's younger, and more stunt ready. Faye Valentine: Helena Bonham Carter came to mind from her performance in Fight Club. The only problem is she seems very old. I think if Amber Tamblyn fits the look. She should pull a heath ledger, without the drugs and stuff. Edward: Sorry, Dakota Fanning wins this one. She's really expirenced, and she can pull of the goofy character. Vicious: I thought about this hard. Everytime I saw Vicious grin, I thought 300. Michael Fassbender is that guy! Punch and Judy: Robert Downey Jr. and Jessica Simpson! Julia: Keira Knightley has a luminous appearance, and a pretty blonde. Edited by Spike Spiegel, Aug 5 2008, 06:56 PM.

Anyway, gotta say the only choice I agree with in here is Bruce as Jet. He's got attitude, grit, experience and can have the father/pal air about him. Honestly I still hope they go with a no-name. I really want to see this in a mature setting but I have a horrible feeling they will do as they did with TF and are doing with DB and make it a teen-aimed movie. I don't like the choice of Ryan Renolds. He's a good actor, but for Spike I think he's a bit too intense. Just doesn't have the "Laid-back" look to him.

Here is James Franco. (Spiderman, Tristan&Isolde, Flyboys, Pineapple Express) At some angles he looks strickingliy similar to Spike. I think it's mainly in his eyes, brows, and the contour of his face. The question is would he be able to get into character? Like someone mentioned above, he may pull a Heath Ledger and take us completely by surprise. After watching the Pineapple Express trailer, I have faith that he can be Spike. I totally agree with everyone on Jet's casting. The finalists are Ron Perlman or Bruce Willis... but Ron Perlman is the SURPREME selection for this role. I mean, c'mon, look at these comparisons. The director is insane if he doesn't at least consider Perlman. Besides, what could be better than Spike teaming up with Hellboy? One thing I know for sure: Whoever Spike's and Jet's actors are, they need to interact perfectly on screen for the Cowboy Bebop movie to work. I may get flames for this, I dunno, but Ellen Page is Ed. (Hard Candy, X-Men:3, Juno) In and out. Ellen's smart, goofy, a bit of a tomboy, and has childlike charm even though she's in her early twenties. I'd love to see more spontaneous performances from her like that scene in Juno--> "I'M A KRAKEN FROM THE SEA!!!" She's just an awesome actress and a lot of people love her. Didn't take much thought into this one, but Naomi Watts might work as Julia. (The Ring, 21 Grams, King Kong) And she's only ten years older than James Franco! Hmmm... As for Faye, no idea.
