Night Shift Admin Posts: 2,067 Group: Admin Member #17 Joined: April 16, 2006	FirstShowing.net has gotten a hint from a reliable source the Keanu Reeves is set to play the part of Spike in the live action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop being adapted by Fox. “He also revealed that Keanu Reeves has been attached as the lead character Spike for over eight months now and is still set for the role.” They also said that the film is on the fast track at the studio and that we could see it by 2010.

Keanu may be able to pull this off desently, but where is his facial expresion? I'm concerned. Spike is very expressive. Must have faith, must have faith.... Then a thought occurred to me. Fox did work on The Matrix, it would only make sence to me why he'd hire an actor he was familiar with. Just please, please, please tell me they are casting Ron Perlman as Jet. Well, can't say I'm too thrilled about it, but maybe he can pull it off, Spike is pretty laidback. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if it's true.

And I disagree on the fight scenes. Keanu's fighting in the matrix movies was far too stilted and remedial. He moves like a machine repeating motions from memory. Spike needs to be fluid. I whole heartedly disagree with this idea.
