my bigest concern is that fox usually has shows dubed by 4kids, there standereds for animation and quality is low, what db and dbz need is an ova, that would be sweet because as good as the series is in my opinion, it can't even touch toriama's manga, sad that it's not likely

@KingSexy - The guy who drew those has some serious skills and if you see more of his work you realize that he's made some great tributes not only to DragonBall, but also heroes like Spiderman etc. The thing is though, his style is waaay too disney to be suited for a serious DB remake. But... why should they do an "US version" of dragon ball?, who do they think they are? what's wrong with the ORIGINAL version? uh?? its unacceptable. this shouldn't happen. its just stupid. a very stupid idea. |

Well by that logic, we shouldn't have DragonBall at all, because it's only based on Journey to the West.

The original RULES, that's why they are making a movie about it (which doesn't look like dragon ball, but... anyway...). and if somebody is able to do such a stupid thing like a remake, that should be toriyama and TOEI, not disney or whoever they think they can. the anime already exists, it's just stupid to think there should be a new version, and not just stupid, its also pretentious and arrogant, and they have no right to do it. |

that's stupid. actually, by that logic, there shouldn't be a new version of Journey to the west. that's what we are talking about: a new version of something that already exists. (and by the way, dragon ball is not only based on journey to the west, it is just partially based on it. DB and JTTW are not the same thing.) Edited by GokuJr82, Sep 27 2008, 09:06 PM.

Ok If the original Dragon Ball series (including DBZ) is dead like you say it is then why are they still coming out with a new Video Game every year? Why are DBZ Toys still being made and being sold in toy stores, Why was a new trading card game released? I think you need to rethink your thoughts because Dragon Ball is still very much alive, In fact I bet you didn't even hear about that DBZ special that was done in Japan to honor Jump's 40th Anniversary. Dragon Ball is like the Energizer Bunny It just keeps running. And Fox is just trying to keep the Series alive though I will have to say if the animation turns out like that garbage KingSexy posted then I sure wont watch it. However If they're just going to redo the existing series then NO, I will not watch it. Lets hope that if they do a new series it will be with new Villains and stuff like that, I mean who wants to see some poorly animated fight of Goku Vs. Majin Buu, NOT ME! dude like I said I've watched the original series over and over, so yeah to me it's old and boring, this has nothing to do with video games, I'm talking about the original story, which is years old, I can pretty much watch the series in my head, so what I'm really saying is, this movie is something new, the supposed new animated series is something, but I guess hardcore fans won't except because they are still stuck to their childhood favorite. |
