Is.. Oak British? I didn't think New Joysie accents were like that. Maybe my reality is destroyed now. |

That's the mystery. In fact, Oak was born in England but as an infant was put in a perambulator and sent to drift across the English Channel into the Atlantic before arriving on the coast of the Great Egg Harbor inlet. He was then found by a farmer and his wife who raised and instilled in him midwestern family values despite their fixed residence being the greater metropolitan area. |

Quite an interesting story behind that accent. Gotta say, Oak is entertaining. I can only imagine the posibilities of what will happen when you get thrown in the mix Del. Oh, and I hope you've recovered from your urinary tract infection.

Came for my dose of Aaron on the big screen and was very disappointed. Oak is very entertaining though. This has the potential to be a lot of fun and quite funny as well as informative. (although informative may just fall to the wayside in favor of funny). Guess we'll have to come up with better topics for Oak to ramble on about in the future and just hope for some Aaron-y goodness later on.

"New Joysie" is mostly, from my experience, a Northern New Jersey accent. I hail from Southern New Jersey. However, where I hail from holds no bearing on why my voice sounded as it did. Volchok's explanation is fantastic, but bear in mind, he had just gotten out of surgery for his urinary tract infection at the time and he, being the featherweight that he is, may have been indubitably under the hallucinogenic influence of baby aspirin when posting. I'll leave you to possibly reclaim your hitherto possibly destroyed reality now. Though I will not comment on where my voice came from, I will explain this: It fluctuates from time to time, sentence to sentence, inhalation to exhalation. I can control it for the most part when I'm focusing on doing so, but most of the time I just let it run with my vigor and seating/standing position, which ultimately dictate how it comes out. @San Goshin -- Thanks for the compliment, mate. Entertaining is my objective at the moment, and I hope to increase the level of pleasure obtained by viewers in future webcasts. And if all else fails, then... pie. ... @Ms. D -- it's even better when he pole-dances on the IV stand next the bed. Again, though, I can't broadcast that video for fear of an invasion of privacy suit. @Volchok -- maybe we could get more people to view and reply if we promised you'd go shirtless either for a promo photoshoot or for a portion of the next webcast? @Vegetasgirl -- T'anks for the compliment, and I apologize for not being able to steal Volchok from the hospital to shoot the webcast with him. He'll be in on either the next one or the following one... !?!? ((OK, here's the explanation for that: IF, and ONLY IF he and I can't get our groove on in the next two weeks, then I'll post something entertaining as filler until we can make beautiful .WMA files together. However, I'll have everyone know that he is rip-roaring ready to go -- it's mostly my schedule that's preventing a sooner shoot.))By all means, S3ND M04R T0P!CS!!1!1 Volchok and I took the topics offered by the forum members earlier in the month and made a podcast, but I believe Volchok has explained what happened to it. Anywho, we really do need more topics, just in case our long-terms plans don't pan out -- at the very least, if we can't be really entertaining with our own topics, we still want to be moderately entertaining and very intimate with the forum members, and the intimacy will come from involving said forum members as is possible (which is limited mostly to replying to textual questions at this time since getting anyone else to my location for a webcast would be a hassle). ---------------------------------- GENERAL NOTE ---------------------------------- Questions? Comments? Concerns? Funny anecdotes? Post here NAO! I'll respond to everyone and everything (and anything decidedly inbetween) until the moderators encase me in carbonite for any valid reason. |

Thanks a bunch, mate! I'll try to maintain and even ramp up the awesomeness for the next one. We'll see if it works. (I'll be working more dutifully on the next one once I get past 9:00pm Thursday, after I get some exams out of the way this week.) |

(For short answer, skip to last paragraph) Heh... Well, when I first joined over a year ago, everyone was fantastic and lovely towards me, and I felt like there was [read: it is quite possible that I simply imagined] a high level of expectations for me from the general membership to live up to the excitement and high-intensity of my original posts and their original replies and all the interpreted subjectivities inbetween. As days passed without a post by me (due at first to a combination of internet outage and general busy-ness), it became harder to even want to look at the introduction thread, or to even log in under my name, because I felt shame -- which of course, I realize now, was completely irrational. But having lived my life the way I did up to that point in time, the logical reaction by me was to flee, to abandon, to disappear, and to be forgotten, and that led to my overall disappearance shortly after submitting a book review thread (an effort on my part to offer something positive to the forum). ... I was a nutcase, alright. Time passed, I changed, and *spins in a circle, becomes encapsulated in a cloud of smoke, and then re-emerges in choir robes* "I said, ah, ah, PRAISE THE LORD! HALLELU, PRAISE YOUR GOD ALMIGHTY -- DOWN ON YOUR KNEES, ah, PRAISE HIM!" --... --- .... No, not that kind of change. What I mean is that I spent some time on another forum, one involving a game I played on the internet, and I developed my online skills there over the period of 11 months, going from a simple poster to an important member and leader in the forum government by the end of it all. When I finally grew tired of the online game (cybernations, which is not really much more than a passive collect-taxes-every-day-and-spend-money until a major-war-breaks-out sort of game), I left it and the forum, and I started this new semester at college. Volchok contacted me a month into this semester and told me about what he wanted to do for/with the forum, and I agreed to join him. It took us awhile, but the ball has finally started rolling. Anywho, it wasn't my intent to log back in, but after posting a solo webcast and addressing the members of this forum somewhat directly, I felt like I should come back. I lurked for a week after posting, and then I logged in. However, the reality of the matter is that I have an exam in 4 hours, and so I'm going to go back to studying that in a moment after posting. I'd post on the forum more often as of this past week except that I'm inundated with schoolwork. (The busywork and b.s. kind that nevertheless dictates my grade point average.) So, the short answer is that I'll be here more often after this semester winds down. And thank you, mate, for the compliments. Del-chok Jr. and I will be working very hard very soon to bring quality material as entertainment for the forum. Until then, I gotsta go study for examz. *blasts off* |
