Dani, Maffy, Shanks, Goshin, TDP, Stryyder, Noodles, Jaybee, Oak, Flames, Member, Kuhan, Mirai, Kaypain, Mune, Fluff, Amanz, Otaku, Vegeta, Luna, Vegetasgirl, GT, Square, Trunksangel. All of you. The only one who perhaps surpasses the lot of you in suckage and would not be unjustly singled out in receiving most of the blame, is me. Actually this isn't a bashing thread, and it shouldn't be perceived as such. The above is just for shock value. But does it maintain a soupçon of truth? Here's the thing. In the spring of 2006 we set out to do something and we've continuously failed in our efforts. What am I talking about, you ask? The fact that this forum has not gained a preferable amount of activity in recent years? No. I'm talking about the fact that there has been little effort to actively engage in the sustenance of this community. I am not blaming those who post little or have left completely. Because it is completely possible to provide sustenance of this community while being completely absent. Dead even. What I'm blaming is the apathy that has arisen in concordance with the belief that this forum is well past it's so-called "golden age" so any effort is not worth the bother. And like I stated, albeit a surprising insinuation for most, myself included, it has nothing to do with being busy, no longer having interest or just leaving. There are NO excuses. Like I said, you could be dead. It has all to do with disenchantment and detachment. A bolstering cerecloth of inconsequentiality upon that which is thought dead and gone. I'm not requesting that you post more. I'm requesting that you post with more meaning. Post for real, something genuine. Stupid even. Like the old days. Post with naïveté.

I don't think I have, but maybe I could've showed more determination at some points. More guts to get thigns moving. But sometimes I just become dissillusioned. What else do I have to do to get people to stay active? I feel like we've tried so much. Here's what I don't understand. We are being noticed. The site gets consitent hits, we're getting e-mails from people. We even got invited to be guests on another website's podcast recently. But why don't these people post? I don't have the answer. Maybe Adam's tactic can work. And then I just moments ago entered ourselves in Zetaboard's "Battle of the Boards" contest, which is essentially free advetising. If I had more time, I'd try more. But right now I have to start thinking about a career, and I don't have the same amount of time I did six months ago. I'm going to try to use this Christmas break to breathe some kind of life into our communtiy. I'm going to try post with more meaning, encourage discussions. Will it work? Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Autobot Posts: 818 Group: Members Member #63 Joined: May 11, 2006	But the forum is past its golden age >=( Also, its kind of hard to take the idea of posting with meaning serious when a major past time of the forum is posting a topic with a ridiculously misleading/false title and then it being something with (nine times out of ten) little relevance to anything. And then we have these threads dedicated to certain things but people decide to start another one thats the same thing, causing clutter and just generating more posts in two places on essentially one topic, and theyre usually topics that have little thinking behind them so instead of posts with meaning, as you want, you just get more random crap, as said, cluttering. Totally love this place though (pretty much the best lurker ever; Kerrigan would make me leader of an army or something), so someone let me know if there's something specific that I can do. Just saying "post with meaning" gives little direction.

I guess it's just that this place has gone in a direction that I personally don't really agree with (and that I didn't/don't have much say in either), which kind of turned off my determination to help make this place awesome once again (to an extent though, or else I wouldn't still be here). I feel as if there's not much else I can do to help. Most of my ideas either got turned down or went unheard. So now I just kinda go with the flow, whatever you guys wanna do, do it, I'm just here as a regular member. I realized that it was time I quit acting like I was still an admin so I did. And I am in no way trying to say everything you have done is wrong, I just don't completely agree with it, so I hope nobody is offended.

Now, I don't mean 'meaning' as in deep, compelling conversation. I guess what I meant falls more along the lines of 'post like you mean it'. I was vague there. Additionally, I'd like people to post in interaction with others. What I've also noticed causing the deprivation of the sustenance of the community is that there's little interaction anymore. Barring a select few boards/threads/members it's all everybody's own 2 cents. And there's not enough 2 cents on this forum to make a buck, if you know what I mean. Plus, this thread has little to do with the activity problem. I think the problem hasn't been getting people to come (stfu Maffy), but getting people to stay. Amanz has proven that we've gotten hits. People are seeing this place, but they're not recurring customers. We need to provide a reason to join this community, which is the backbone of this site. Without it there's no reason.

Super Saiyan Posts: 1,480 Group: Members Member #567 Joined: June 7, 2007	I do like you old posters (Maffy, Dani (Ms. D), Son Goshin, Del/Volchok, Thrash/TheDarkPrince, Stryyder when he's around, and afterlife/RJ if he ever comes back). The forum family is what keeps me around. I never thought I'd say it, but I really do miss Shanks. He turned out to be not such a bad bloke. And Jaybee is also a treat. Still, Del, my interests have changed. My focus has been realigned to college, work, volunteer work, and various leisure activities. The internet sucks my soul away, and I want my soul back in the so called "Real World". I'm about to embark on the scientific adventure of life--do you really suppose I want to spend/waste my time here? Sorry if I am skeptical for the future of the forum, but honesty is the best policy. Maybe we might have a spike of interest once the DBZ movie gets out; other than that, we're doomed and you know it. But I still enjoyed the experience.

I don't beleive there is any reason to abort. I am a part of three web communities. One is a forum for the pillows. There's a lot of great people there, and whenever there's a new album out, it's really hopping. Right now, that board is dead, hardly any activity save their equvilaent of the general board. I've never seen it so dead, 10X deader than it is here. But I don't think the forum's going to die or anything like that, because it has a close community. Then I'm a member on Album Six, a Weezer forum. Fairly new there, but I'm finding my place. A lot of the people there have been a part of the community for 7, 8 years. There's always something to talk about and people seem really close there. Then the third forum is of course here. I can say that I consider many of you friends. I can't say that about any place. And I'm sure the same is for you guys. We've found relationships, friends, "brothers" even. The thing is we've been around here for the better part of 5 years. And of course our interests might change or wane. We've seen good friends leave before, and we've seen new waves of people take their place. What we need is another wave of active members. We need to welcome more people into our community like we did Member 483, Moonbelle, V-Girl, etc. We'll keep surviving if we keep getting new life in our community. I mean, we grow up. We have grown up! When we first came here we were kids in high school, junior high. Now we're facing or on the brink of college life, even actual careers! We have a good sense of community here, and I think that fact in and of itself will insure that this forum isn't going anywhere for a while. We just need to breathe some new life in here along with our veterans and get some discussion going. Del, this topic has really revitalized me, and once my finals are done next week I really want to try and work with who I can to truly bring this forum back. Sorry if I made any of this sound mushy or anything, but I meant what I said. You guys are awesome and that's enough to keep bringing me back here and it's what will make me strive to keep LAA interesting and as relevant as possible in our busy lives.

All of you. and just where the f*ck am i at in that list! lol i think my hiatus is done with for a while, im going to try to be on at least for a few mins every day again. im sure this place isnt totally lost. hell, when there were like four or five of us on here we kept it pretty busy.
