 So if you guys haven't heard, a "refreshed" version of DBZ is coming out in Japan called DragonBall Kai. There's a whole crapload of info about it HERE. We'll be seeing a lot less filler, some new footage, and a real remastering job of the original film. It's just a great time to be a DragonBall fan! :D

 I said this in the other thread by Adam, that I knew a while ago they were going to do this, I just didn't know they were changing the name.

I see they dropped the "Z" which is from Zed meaning final or last and changed it to kai which in this case means "subordinate" or on a lower level. One, because it's not the last anymore due to the movie and I guess they like the new movie so much that they now consider the film to be the ultimate form of Dragonball. Hehe, Kewl.
