Sci-FiNow talked with Justin Chatwin (Goku) who spilled to them that the sequel to Dragonball Evolution has already been written. Dragonball: Evolution, the first live-action adaptation of the popular manga, hasn’t even hit our screens yet, but the script for a proposed sequel has already been written, according to Justin Chatwin, who plays Goku in the upcoming film. Speaking to SciFiNow last month, the 26-year-old actor said that he was signed on for potential sequels, and that he was excited about the prospect: “If there were to be a sequel I think it… well, I know that it would go to a really interesting place, because they already have the second script written.” When pressed for details, Chatwin revealed a little more about the direction of the celluloid version of the franchise. “It’s really, really cool. The second one goes more into the whole legacy and the genealogy of Dragonball. It goes more in-depth into a real Dragonball series, the kind of intergalactic world of Dragonball.” DBthemovie.com was tipped similar information earlier by a trusted scooper. The tentative title for this alleged script was Dragonball Reborn, but of course nothing has been green lit yet. |

Well I'm pretty sure Wong will still be there. But I like how Chatwin talks about the "intergalactic part" of DragonBall. Glad we'll get to see Vegeta and hopefully Nappa and Raditz. Maybe we'll even get a glimpse at Frieza. |

Mah ha! We've been trying to get him to change that thing for years. Ain't gonna happen! I sort of knew thins was going to be a three movie franchise at least, but to already have written the second script is an unreal thought. That was fast! I guess they know they must have something good here or they wouldn't have thrown the money at it so quickly. Looks like we are going to see the first DBZ sagas in this one. Odds are they will condense everything up to and including the Freeza Saga in this one and save the Android saga for the third. Or perhaps they will find some way to split it up so that Freeza is the third movie. Although it might make for a slightly boring cookie cutter type film if you know what I mean. Movie 1: Green alien comes to earth to destroy it, fights Goku, is defeated. Movie 2: Pointy haired alien comes to earth to destroy it, fights Goku, is defeated. Yawn. It would be much more fun to send them to Namek and then you could get good background on Goku and Piccolo. Guess we'll have to see. At any rate this forum will still be around for at least 5 more years. Lol! |

Let's face it, the idea of a live action Dragonball movie is pointless to begin, because you got millions of demanding fans and fans don't coincide with the studio |

Point well taken, however they are shooting for general audiences here. Films have to be somewhat lucrative for the studios or they won't make them, This is their business and you have to at least break even. "Watchmen" is turning out to be the perfect poster child for "giving the fans everything they want" and guess what? They released a clip from it yesterday and the reaction was it was horrible. Even the most die hard fans hated it even though it's 'just exactly like the graphic novel'. Who'da thunk it? So what do you think the Gen audience is going to think when they see the trailers? It might just be a little too over their heads and 'artsy' for them and too stupid for the fan base. "Speed Racer" was another. The original fans loved it, but gen audiences didn't bite and the box office tanked. |

Excellent point VG. I too think condensing 2 sagas into one film would be a good idea on their part. |

Ya, I agree. Putting 2 sagas in one would put more conflict in the movie, which is always good, and give the movie more characters (more interesting characters) and that's about it. Oh and it will allow them to use cool CGI to showcase new cool moves that Goku learned. Like one that I can think of at the top of my head is the spirit bomb. I'm real curious about how that would look on screen. But ya, more Dragonball Z in one movie is always better than less IMO. But I will laugh my ASS off if the Ginyu force makes an appearance! Especially the dude that looks like a fat frog. lol |

You dont think it would suffer from the Spiderman 3 problem of having to many bad guys. I mean you figure if you combine Saiyan and Freiza, you got Nappa and Vegeta, Vegeta killing people on Namek, the Ginyu Force, all of Frieza fights with Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan, and Piccolo. Then Goku and Frieza. Of course I am talking if they try and stay true to the source material this time. |

Spiderman 3 suffered because the creation of the 'new goblin' and the director hating venom. >.< However. The two sagas into one movie thing... If you threw in Radditz, say...at the beginning of the film....opens up right when he takes gohan till when he dies...say 35 minutes? not even?....then have goku do the whole snakeway thing and maybe have the snake...princess?(or queen)...then king kai for about...what, an hour or so (as its going back and forth between him and the others with Nappa and Vegeta), then have him fight vegeta for the last 45 mins....thats a 3 hour or so movie. and a hit. Lol... |
| Something here soon. | |

Maybe by intergalactic what they mean is we see Vegeta and Nappa traveling through space and stopping on some planets on the way like in the anime. I think trying to fit the entire Saiyan and Namek Sagas into one movie is just way to much. Like it was stated before you have to show Goku die his travels down snake way king kia the others training for the Saiyans the others fighting the Saiyans Goku's arrival back on earth Gokus fight with Nappa Gokus fight with Vegeta and that's just he Saiyan saga.

I say you could do Radditz in 10 or 15 minutes. Then you can use a good 45 minutes showing Goku on snake way, training with king kai, showing Gohan's adventures and connections with Piccolo, and showing Krillin, Bulma, Roshi, ect.. finding the 7 Dragonballs. That way people can have some emotional invested time in Krillin. You can also use the time to show some stuff with Vegeta and Nappa, make mention of Frieza and Super Saiyans. You can use the next hour of the battles, and then end the movie off with Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma leaving for Namek. That totals to pretty much 2 hours. Having both the Vegeta and Frieza arc in one movie would be way to much, not to mention if they intend to be faithful and have Krillins death trigger SS people wouldn't buy it. Also Frieza is such a good arc it deserves its own movie if done right. |
