Gohans dead we are not suppose to see him till Baba tournament.
Oozaru Goku is suppose to kill Gohan not the Sith lord Piccolo
The way Goku and Bulma met in the anime was a classic moment and they raped that moment like no ones business
They are never suppose to search for Roshi, Roshi finds them and Goku trains with him later on with a partner called Krillin which the movie totally ignored.
Roshis training was horrible in the movie
Roshi is not suppose to be with the crew when they meet Yamcha and how come Yamcha is not a fighter? Wheres the Goku Vs Yamacha fight? Again the film fails at that.
Goku more or less wants to stop Piccolo for achieving his goals but he also wants revenge, also Piccolo wants revenge on Goku for killing his kids. They left out that whole interesting dynamic of those two characters.
Piccolo is suppose to make his wish, he does not. Also Tien is suppose to try and stop Piccolo before Goku, which he is none existent in this movie also.
The classic way Goku beats Piccolo was raped to, he doesn't to a crouching tiger hidden dragon style Kamehameha. He jumps right through his stomach and Piccolo spits out Piccolo Jr. egg. This Piccolo was just KO'd or some BS.
Everything that made Dragonball, Dragonball this film either left out or totally raped to the point where it might as well be called something else.

Yes, but you seem to have decided to skip the entire statement I made after that were I said they have taken liberties with how the story is told but the basic story line it follows is exactly the same basic story line that Dragonball follows. Example: Gohan does train Goku in the mountains just like in the anime only in this version he is still alive. Goku does meet Bulma after Gohan is dead when she comes to him looking for a dragonball just like in the anime only in the movie she doesn't almost hit him with her car.
See I never said it DBE is exactly the same as DB I said the basic story line used in DBE is the exact same basic story line used in DB.
Yes very true, but they are not just telling the King Piccolo Saga in this movie they are also compressing together the entirety of Dragonball so they can move on to DBZ after this movie. Having Gohan alive in this movie allows people to get to know where Goku comes from with out having to use flash backs in later movies. It's really not that big of a change. Same with the school stuff. I'd rather it wasn't there, but Goku obviously doesn't care about anything he's being taught at school, so it doesn't bug me too much.
The part about Gohan being killed by Piccolo instead of by Goku...really who cares. That part of the story has no big impact on the anime or manga at all. When he finds out in the Sayian Saga it was him he feels bad, but it doesn't change anything and after the episode he finds out it was him you never hear about it again lol.
I don't understand what your talking about I think they did a great job with this scene. This is actually one of the few scenes I've seen from the movie and I really like what they did with it. She doesn't almost run him over with her car however she does come in with her guns drawn just like she did after she almost hit Goku in the anime. In fact she actually shot Goku in the anime and manga after she almost hit him. I also liked how Goku acted so naive in the movie just like in the anime and manga when he asked are you Piccolo, just like Goku would do.
Yes they don't set out to meet master Roshi in the manga and anime, but your wrong about Roshi finding them. They rescue his turtle and take him back to the sea. After they get to the sea Turtle asks them to wait cause he wants to give them something in return for there help. Turtle then brings master Roshi to them. That's how Goku get's the Nimbus cloud. I mean obviously you know they meet him in the manga and anime so who cares that they set out to meet him in the movie? They end up meeting him like they would have had to anyways. Having them search for him was just a way to make them meeting him come faster.
About the training well I've only seen the part were Roshi makes Goku run after them caring a huge backpack. That is something that seems to fit the training Roshi gave Goku in the manga and anime so I don't understand what your talking about.
Again true but this is a 89 minute version you saw and they have to introduce the characters faster then they did in the anime so having master Roshi with them is okay with me. Any ways atleast they introduced the characters in the right order Bulma was first then Roshi then Yamcha lol.
Not really. It's not for the same exact reasons as the manga and anime, but Goku is after Piccolo for revenge for killing Gohan and Piccolo is after Goku cause he has the four star ball, and for getting in his way.
Yes but they also made this Piccolo much younger looking and his goal wasn't even to wish for youth it was for world domination in the movie. So it makes more sense that Goku stops him then letting him have his wish.
Tien's not really a big deal. He could easily be introduced in the next movie anyways just like Krillin could be. Anyways Tien doesn't play a huge part in DBZ anyways and we know the next film will be based on DBZ.
What do you mean? From the clip I saw in the TV ad he does the Kamehameha then jumps through it and uses his super punch to take Piccolo out. In the manga and anime he uses a blast to launch himself at Picclo then uses his super punch to go through Piccolo. The only difference is he doesn't go flying through Piccolo's body leaving a huge hole and Piccolo doesn't somehow spit out a huge egg that seems to come out of nowhere cause he has a huge hole right below his neck lol.
You make it sound like this is nothing like Dragonball, when in fact the changes they've made are very small, in reality this movie is very much like the source material. For some reason though you seem to not be able to see that, and instead have decided to completely focus on all the small changes they've made to the story.

Actually, in the movie he does the Kamehameha and it apparently propels him forward as he does it. Reverse physics ftw.
EDIT: I actually liked the Bulma meets Goku scene for some reason. Oh yea and I think Justin Chatwin was at his best during the High School scenes. It might be because that is more of his element.
