How can you make a cartoon HD? Brighter colors? Anyway, I take back what I said. I probably wouldn't even spend $5 to buy the Dragonball movie because chances are there is probably something better in that bin than DBE. |

Lol, damn Vegeta. Anyway, apparently some of the openings in other countries have been closed and instead the fans over there are going to have to wait for the DVD release in order to get to watch this p.o.s. So, what kind of impact will this have on the revenue? Are they trying to maximize profit by doing this or what? Edited by End_Game, Apr 26 2009, 06:47 PM.

Any decision a studio makes is to make or increase their profits and make their bottom line, since it is a business like any other. Business 101 lol. So, you can bet that they made that decision in the hopes of trying avoiding more losses that they think would happen due to a decision that they made to release DBE in those theaters. Or, they think that the they won't necessarily lose money, but instead profit more from DVD sales will eclipse the tiny amounts of profit that they would get from the box office. IMO, that's a better idea because distributing DVDs is much less costly than distributing through the theaters. For one, they'll be able to charge a price similar to the ticket price, and they'll be able to advertise only their other films in each DVD without having to worry about other ads from local businesses and other films from other competitors that would otherwise show up in the theaters. Plus, if their customers really want to see Dragonball, then they'll buy the DVD, and they'll probably not bash it to their friends because its a DVD that they bought and will always have. There are other obvious perks to that decision. So, I think it is a logical decision and it will cut down their distribution costs considerably.

Sucks for the people that wanted to watch this. I think this decision gives off the impression that they see this an economic failure...maybe we won't be getting a sequel/remake anytime soon. |

I think that a big problem for fox is that they have already signed in the main cast for a sequel, who I hope by now they've realized are not suitable for a sequel. So, I'm guessing that it will be hard for them to completely recast it. That is something that could possibly be keeping this sequel from being made.
