I'd actually have Jet Li play Frieza. If Lethal Weapon 4 showed us anything it's that he makes an awesome bad guy, in fact he should take on villainous roles more often.

I'd worry a little about his acting abilities but one thing he does have is a kind of aura about him. You just know that guy could kick your ass. Frieza is the most powerful being in the known universe and you need someone who can portray that.

Oh and my real choice for King Kai is this guy:

Kurtwood Smith

The reason being that I would have King Kai be a kind of cranky of man with a wicked sense of humor who decides he's going to put Goku in his place when he arrives unannounced.
Goku- I'm going to fight Frieza
King Kai- YOU DUMBASS!

I agree that Jet Li is a good actor. He gave strong performances in Hero, Unleashed, and especially Fearless. And actually I'd be willing to admit that his performance in The One, while not going to win him any Oscars, showed that he had charisma and a unique charm.

But there's something aristocratic about Frieza that I don't think Jet Li could pull off, and English not being his first language is definitely an impediment.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jet Li in Dragonball though. Not sure who he could play.

ah by the way i doubt any famous, extabilished actors would take part to the sequel, even if it's a good movie, cause dbe is much smallville-like

that said, the biggest concerns should now be, i think in order of importance, Vegeta, Frieza, Krillin, King Kai, Tien, Bardock and Nappa. others, like androids and cell, are quite useless to discuss i think, at this stage.

nappa shouldnt be a big problem, Bill Goldberg or Nathan Jones, and i'll personally go with Jones. He just has to deliver his "what does the scouter say about his power level" line, throw punches and then die. not much.

i'd personally like to see Mr Satan as well, and since they say they wanted to make DBE more Z-ish, it's not impossible.

i'd also love to see Pilaf in some flashback of him releasing piccolo, and some comedy from him and Mai in some sort of parallel plot. and for pilaf Martin Klebba is the man.

also, Krillin shouldn't be a midget, imo. he should just be shorter than goku that's all. more like DeVito midget. Or Sarkozy midget. or Berlusconi midget. not Verne Troyer midget.
Omnia enim stolidi magis admirantur amantque,
inversis quae sub verbis latitantia cernunt,
veraque constituunt quae belle tangere possunt
auris et lepido quae sunt fucata sonore.

Indeed, the stupid most admire and love all
that is scarcely discernible, hidden by abstruse words,
and accept as true all things that sweetly caress
the ear, and that are masked by a pleasant sound.

Pilaf, if his entire character is kept extremely faithful to the anime, is too bizarre to be in a sequel, if there is one. His character will fit if his character is for comedic relief, like Mini Me, but his character won't fit that role, or any. Just think about it this way, a midget with super magical fighting strength whose some color close to blue and has pointy ears, so like a midget and blue version of Piccolo? I don't think so. This isn't Harry Potter, this is a super martial arts film, that uses ki as an excuse to show magic esque powers. In DBZ, he is a main character, but in a few side plots, and not crucial to the series or developing any of the characters. Maybe Gohan, but he always forget what happened in the end after his heroic feets of power. So I highly doubt that they'll include him in the script. He's just too fantastic of a character, and where would he come from? Some alternate magical dimension, or from yet another planet? It just wouldn't work.

You know "The Stunt Runt' himself was trying for the part of Krillen in DBE for months during the casting process.

I had a chance to talk to Marty back then and he was really psyched to get the part. Heck, he said he would love to have any part in a DBZ movie. However the script being what it turned out to be, the part didn't exist.

That aside. Krillen shouldn't be a "little person". Theres a managerat the store I work at who is only 5'2" tall and that would be the perfect height for Krillen, so there are people out there that a smaller in stature that would fit the part. My personal pick has always been Ernie Reyes Jr. He was in "The Rundown" and the last Indiana Jones movie. His style is really wild, so he would be the perfect balance to Justin's Goku.

Hey! This guy totally stole and updated an earlier version of my armor and didn't credit me... Cool! I wish I got some credit, but it's kinda flattering.
Spoiler: click to toggle

I agree that there is no way Krillin should be a "little person". The proportions of his body are that of a person who is just rather short. A few years ago I was all for Ernie Reyes Jr., but since they've gone with a younger cast he wouldn't fit in. Now I'm thinking possibly Dante Basco like someone else suggested. He's getting a bit old but he still looks young. He's about 5ft 5in.

Speeking of which, I'm about 5ft5in too. I think I could be Dende! :P

I think he would have been a better choice for Goku or Yamcha but Danny Henney could probably pass as Tenshinhan if they put him in a sequel.

I know that the idea of Raditz even existing in the sequel is highly unlikely, but if he is I think that he should be played by Chris Angel. I had a test matte painting I did to see what it would look like but its not letting me post it on here. Meh... its not like it matters. I waited 6 years for an american kid named goku verses the mask in a batman suit. Although, Piccolo did look cool, but his costume was a complete ripoff from Star Trek. Has it been confirmed that the Saiyans are even coming up next? I hope so. I also hope it's PG-13.
