this actually makes me happy. it means we probably get a sequel and most important that this movie is not the result of 100 million dollars.

EDIT: i and kmccaskill made the same topic at the same time, km i hope you don't mind i deleted yours, it's just that you opened so many and i was envious :...: :cumbak: :boogie: not really but lol

I agree with that point, but I don't get how that makes you happy for the sequel. I mean even if they somehow magically fixed most of the 'mistakes' with the second movie (which IMO is impossible), considering the low budget of DBE I doubt it will have something like a $200 Mil budget. - which is, IMO, necessary for making a proper DBZ movie.

it makes me happy because there are now more chances to make a sequel, since that's based on how much money the movie makes.

i wouldn't be much worried of getting another dbe like treatment for dbZ, since now fox does know the reactions of fans to their adaptation 'techniques' and they'll be sure to please the fans (at least i hope they're smart enough to do it)

Are you sure that paper isn't wrong? It's believable but it's the only source we have that says 45. Everything else says 100.

I really think the only "fan pleasing" we might get will be Krillin and Tenshinhan.

Even if they decided to please the fans, after having seen DBE I don't see how that would result in a satisfying movie looking at the current cast. Chow Yun Fat and James Marsters were easily the best actors in the movie and even they weren't great, it's just that they were looking good in comparison to Chatwin's terrible performance.

That's weird that we just now found out the real budget for this movie. But anyway, I'm a little worried they will do the sequel similarly to how they did this one.

Wow that sucks, the last thing we need is a DBE sequel. Please just let it die.

i mean, like not having crazy stuff like highschool and bullies

about chatwin's performance, i think it's Wong's fault, cause it was him to make him act that way. i mean like a depressed kid and whatnot. some moments like when Gohan dies and when he meets Bulma look really good to me.

i doubt they would mistake 45 for 100.
and i'll quote Craig from DBthemovie

Quote:

The $100 million budget only comes from one source which is a T.V Guide interview back in January 30th, 2008. James Marsters said:
Quote:

I was told the budget is about $100 million.

Thats what James Marsters knew at the time. I thought it was pretty obvious that this film didn't have a 100 million dollar budget (guess not).

They lied to James?

No one lied to James. Back in January of 2008 Marsters heard that the budget would be $100 mil. A films budget is never set in stone and is controlled by the studio. They decided to make it $45 million for a reason they deemed appropriate.

I still find it ridiculous that we find out the actual budget this close to release.

Its not ridiculous because its not your business to know how much the movie cost for them to make it. Its not the customer's job to know the budget of the product that he's buying.

i agree with both of you.

its a little strange for them to publish that stuff in a newspaper close to the release date

and strange for them to post it at all, i mean studios usually release how much they made like TDK 500+mil

^ I agree, i am a lot more forgiving of the meh special effects now that i know that there was only $45 mil involved.
