This is a thread where I perform some ass-pounding. If we don't do something now, the Avatar board (which I figure would be put up by the time the trailer comes out if I'm not mistaken) will turn out worse than the Dragonball board. There is no racism in the Avatar casting you sick f***s. I'm now going to assemble an elite task force of members to assist me in the noob ass-pounding. The members are: Maffy, Dani, Thrash, Member, Oak, Kaypain, LV (since he'll enjoy it most of all...jk, just trying to lure him out), Goshin, Dodrill, Priscilla, Fluffy, Shinrin, Vegetasgirl, Luna, Mssj, Noodles, Shanks, Jaybee, Prince Vegeta and Mirai. But seeing as how the majority of them are either inactive or chaste, I'll just take Maffy and Dani. |

I'm on it. We've hardly gotten enough information on The Last Airbender for people to be bitching about how the Fire Nation isn't going to be Japanese or some sh*t.

its not about race, its about character Avatar The Last Airbender has no reference of race. All the cultures in Avatar are build up on from real philosophies and teachings. After seeing Randal Duk's perfermance as Gohan I was very impressed and i also saw a bit of Iroh in his voice. Shaun Toub is more of a monk like gyatsu or even guru pathik. Cliff Curtis role in 10,000 bc was also very good. I'd see him more as sokka's headstrong father than zuko's fatherlord. Asif Mandiz as Zhao, i have not seen any of his movies so no comment, but i would like to see Hugo Weaving play that part. "Mr. Zuko, we meet again" Dev Patel as Zuko, i have not seem any of his movies so no comment, but i dont really know who i would cast as zoku?    As for ang, sokka and katars's casted actors I am pleased with it. Jack R. did an interview where he sounded almost like sokka. The girl rumored for Yue, has yue's chin and face structure, the same goes for the girl rumored for suki. People who are complaining about race have no idea what they're talking about. The same with dragonball when lota of asian reviewers pounded on the fact the justin chatwin isn't asian and he shouldnt be portraying goku. It seems i;m hearing the same for Noah Ringer. Avatar like dragonball is is in in a fantas fantasy wor wor world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- as for shamalya, his movies arent my cup of tea but who know maybe this is the kind of materiel he's looking for. On the same topic, i wonder what he changed and how it will affect the sequels in relation to the cartoon. |

AHAHAHAHAHA! Finally, I get to laugh at someone else doing that. Feel my pain!!! Anyways, back on topic. Yeah, stupidity. Just like "Oh noez!!! DBZ shud be japaneezzzzz!!!!" when Toriyama himself said the setting of DB/Z was "influenced" by chinese settings (as it is based on a chinese tale) but had NO PARTICULAR SETTING. Yeah, so where exactly is the fire nation on earth? I've yet to see it on a map. The show has "asian" influences. Well, sorry to say but Asia is the largest and most diverse continent in the world, ranging from China, Japan, and Mongolia, to Thailand and India, all the way up to Russia and all the "-vakia" countries. Actually, since that show wasn't anime, all in favor of moving those threads to the Movies board? I'd even be willing to make it a subboard with all the griping they're doing. Anyone? Woah I didn't expect some of you guys to show. Mirai, Kaypain, Noodles? If only Oak were here to see the formation of this Fellowship.
Woah I learned this before and I just did it a few months back! But I forgot how to do it. I usually block out everything I learn in a math class once the class ends. Kind of like Math rapes me at a kegger and I block it out of my memory, yet I develop dissociative personality. At night my other personality emerges to do quadratic equations and I wake up not remembering anything. |
