It sounds like they'll start filming this fall, from what James Marsters said.

Why must Fox do this to us? Man, 5 years ago, no ONE YEAR ago, I'd be ecstatic right now! But after seeing the failure of the first movie, I can't get excited now. The only way the movie franchise of DragonBall will be saved is if another studio gets a hold of it, reboots it, and just starts from scratch. If Marsters is correct, this'll be an interesting journey to the new movie...

I guess once you've paid for your ticket, Fox really doesn't care what you think of the actual film...

Omnia enim stolidi magis admirantur amantque,
inversis quae sub verbis latitantia cernunt,
veraque constituunt quae belle tangere possunt
auris et lepido quae sunt fucata sonore.

Indeed, the stupid most admire and love all
that is scarcely discernible, hidden by abstruse words,
and accept as true all things that sweetly caress
the ear, and that are masked by a pleasant sound.

Its obvious to me that they still think that there's money in this thing. If they do things drastically differently, they may not be wrong. And about Raditz, they can easily change that character... but that might piss off all the die hard fans. Oh well worse things have happened in cinema lol

that doesn't matter though. Little budget or not, they should still be good enough pull together a great film. If they have a large budget, it should all be going towards the talent and director. THat obviously didn't happen for the first film. If they have a great and well known director on board, the budget should jump at least a couple million.

A "great" and "well known" director isn't going to touch this movie.

In any case I would prefer someone who knows and loves Dragonball to take it on, regardless of how well known they are. Even if it's a nobody, even if they fail, at least we would know they put everything into it.

By the way, I have the strangest feeling that Gohan isn't going to be in the movie.

I defended that last movie up to the very last minute and after seeing it I will not defend this movie until I see anything that makes me think they are trying to make a good movie out of the Dragonball Franchise. Seriously I thought that the last movie was going to be great and I defended it longer them most people here did and after seeing it I just couldn't believe it. How they got Dragonball Evolution out of DB...it still hurts my head trying to figure that one out.

On the other hand who knows, maybe they will have learned, maybe like the trend that's been going on the second movie will be much better, I guess we can hope, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

The thing is, theoretically speaking, they have no excuses. This time there is no writers strike (though an actors strike could happen...or has that been resolved) and the fans have let them know exactly what they thought of DBE.

Even though the budget may be the same, the new movie has every chance of being better simply because they messed up so bad on the first one that surely the second can only be better. Right? RIGHT?

If Raditz is indeed the villain then I would expect another 80 minute film. Starts with Raditz arriving, he takes Gohan (or Chi Chi since I don't think Gohan will be in the movie) Piccolo offers his help and they go to find him. The movie ends with word that Vegeta is on his way to Earth.

Yes, they may do a Dragonball trilogy and never get to Frieza.
