Cant even get Wolverine right!!f*** U ALL!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fox Wants to Reboot Dragonball? Jun 18th, 2009 You know the drill. Take this with a grain of salt, Fox sucks, and so on. After the U.S. producers experienced a major failure with the signing of Dragon Ball: Evolution, we get information from our correspondents in Miami that Dragon Ball will be restarted and not only that, but also confirmed a forthcoming trilogy. Such confirmation said the spokesman for 20th Century Fox, Abraham Sullivan: “If we have another movie (Dragon Ball), we are currently discussing the resumption of the trilogy” Sullivan said our correspondent. “The only problems we have are the scripts are not finished yet and will be reviewed by our executives, as well as walk in the search for a new director to make such delivery” said the spokesman for the Fox. So, Fox is (allegedly) discussing a reboot that would potentially kick start a trilogy. “…Cool.” This comes from a blog on HoyCinema, which is about as reliable as James Marsters. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited by JFDwrites, Jun 18 2009, 10:04 PM.

I'm all for it. "Usually" reboots are better when the original film or films are not that great. |

Yes but even if this is better than DBE is that saying much? Seriously if they want to reboot it and do it right. They first need a good script, all new cast, a director that can do something epic. It also needs at least $150 million. |

Not really. Um Incredible Hulk was mindless (ok some people liked it better than the Lee effort but it wasn't a big improvement) and Punisher: Warzone was horrible...what else? Uh...Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, Friday the 13th, all inferior to the originals... The only reboot that I can think of that worked was Silence of the Lambs over Manhunt and that wasn't really a reboot plus a lot of people still prefer Manhunt. Having said all that, if there is to be a reboot - Fox, hire me

honestly i'm pro reboot. i don't care if they fail again, i don't care if they make 10 dragonball movies that all suck. if this is true, at least they'll try to do it. there's still a chance it will be good. so, i hope this is true. |

Omnia enim stolidi magis admirantur amantque, inversis quae sub verbis latitantia cernunt, veraque constituunt quae belle tangere possunt auris et lepido quae sunt fucata sonore. Indeed, the stupid most admire and love all that is scarcely discernible, hidden by abstruse words, and accept as true all things that sweetly caress the ear, and that are masked by a pleasant sound. --Titus Lucretius, De Rerum Natura, circa 80 B.C.--

Hm, as much as I want a reboot as well, Fox ain't the studio to do this. I don't know which of the options I'm more scared of from them, a sequel or a reboot. I'm not going to put much faith into this as of yet though until we see some more substantial confirmation. |

If DB gets a reboot and the screw this up again which they most likely will. Then Fox is to the live action version of DB as 4Kids was to One Piece. |

I would wait, and not count them out quite yet. Of course they are facing insurmountable odds that they will pull through and create a Dark Knight caliber super hero film because that takes a director that won't want to be attached to this "reboot." So, I predict that they will sign a director new to the "Holleywood" scene, so he/she could be an indie director. But this very well may be a director's directing debut. Its a possibility and I wouldn't count it out. The reason being is that directors, when they need fame quickly, sometimes like to turn around flops. Its always incredibly risky. But, if I was the chairman, and I had my way, I would do all that I could to get Ridley Scott, Peter Burg, JJ Abrams (who would never do it), Jon Favreau, Quentin Terentino, you know high quality directors who tend to make action/drama pictures. I think that Quentin Terentino would bring something groundbreaking to the table because he's just that kind of guy. I'm counting out Stephen Chow because he wouldn't do this film...for obvious reasons. But what intrigues me is that Marstars is still signed on. He could still be pulled from the project, but what does that mean for Chatwin? Just saying...I know that one doesn't mean the other, but still... And I gotta say I don't at all agree with thi 150 mill must. Thats b.s. The effects were of a good enough quality with a low blockbuster budget, even though they were not handled well and designed horribly. In my humble opinion, what I think would drive up the budget are better vfx artists, better actors, better director, better pros that write and compose the music, and of course better screenwriters. Oh and of course better marketing, much better. This has to be a balls out epic that attempts to put Spiderman, Ironman, and The incredible Hulk to shame. Hell, they want this to be a trilogy! So, they still believe in this franchise, and we might as well warm up to this since Fox will not give up without atleast three years of fighting lol. There are of course more elements that would jack up the budget, but those parts are the ones that I follow... But I'm preparing for the unexpected, a complete 180, since that's what life usually throws at me, so I don't know and NOBODY knows either. |

reboot??? This might be better then sequel. They can start off with a better story and not have goku in high school. I see a lot of improvement in reboot. In sequel, they would have to stick with a lot of crappy things like: no tail, ozzaru as big as Shack, and looks more like werewolf, crappy master roshi, bad script, lame bad no talking shinlong, lame fake rocks as well as lame costume. and no. So there can be a lot of improvement with reboot. Question is can fox do it? What they need to do is show a small story of goku as kid with tail, and make a big gorilla that goku can become, using moon not something whatever that was in evolution. good luck fox.(after seeing evolution, I'm not expecting batman begins or dark knight. Actually im not expecting all that much). |

well, fox didn't realize how popular dragonball was popular worldwide, they also realize they they left a lot of money on the table dbe has tainted the dragonball from the comic and anime, if they are smart they'll start this reboot in space with Goku's father Bardock, young King Vegeta, Frieza, King Cold, Guru, Nail, and the Saiyans they could develope a story that the creator of dragonball only touched on... |

If they reboot it fine. I don't want to see a sequel to what they made. But if they go for the reboot I hope they don't do it for at the very least another 5 years. |
