Dear creature (since I'm not sure if you're a human or a monster or an animal or something pretending to be another),

I throw my arms as a symbol of "thankfulness" for visiting this oasis. But just so I know who's specifically knocking at our oasis's front door, do you mind if you register or log in?

You're currently wandering outside our oasis as a ghost. This means your face is unrecognizable and you are limited to certain areas of our oasis and there are some abilities you don't possess. If you become one of us, you'll be able to access monster-only sections, and use many monster-only features such as having a slimy profile, sending monsterosas letters, and a lot more. Monsterification is simple, fast, and completely free.

Do you have what it takes to become a monster?

If you're already a monster here then please slobiverate your details below in order to access all the features you deserve: (Plus, you'll get rid of this annoying reminder.)

Wrong to play card games?

I'm pissed at my religious friend because she's telling me not to play Tong-its (a card game I really like) anymore. I'm so against gambling and I'm completely aware it's bad and she knows that. I just want to play Tong-its for entertainment purposes and just to bond with other friends. But she says there are other games out there that can be used for that kind of purpose.

Tong-its means a lot to me. And I don't think there's another game out there (which is not a card game) that can replace it. I have some good memories with it. And she, making me not to play that game anymore is making me sad.

I try to give my points but she's not convinced. The fact that she's saying she's the one who's saying right is making me more pissed. Are there any Bible verses that support what she was saying? Please tell me facts and your opinions.

Wow, that totally sucks. 'Reminds me of how some guy once tore apart Luke's Pokemon cards because they were "unchristian."

I know that Muslims aren't allowed to gamble because it's in the Quran or something, but I doubt it's in the Bible. I certainly can't recall such a verse...

From Wikipedia:

Religious perspectives on gambling have been mixed. Both the Catholic and Jewish traditions have even set aside days for gambling,[5] (for Jews Hanukkah), although religious authorities generally disapprove of gambling. Ancient Jewish authorities frowned on gambling, even disqualifying professional gamblers from testifying in court.[6] Gambling has often been seen as having social consequences. For these social and religious reasons, most legal jurisdictions limit gambling.[citation needed] Some Islamic nations prohibit gambling; most other countries regulate it.[7]

I'm really anti-alcoholism (I wouldn't be surprised if I was in the temperance movement that occurred between the late 1800-early 1900s in the US if I lived at that time), but honestly, everything's good in moderation. Kids were fed beer a long time ago because water or milk was usually too unsafe to drink. Masturbation is a healthy way to discover what turns one on or not. It's only a problem if you do it for six hours at a time like this one guy was on a mental illness documentary I once saw in psychology. A couple of days at Vegas is fun, as long as you don't spend 18 hours at a time and is $500,000+ in the hole.

ANNNNYYWWAAYYY back on topic: Nah, it ain't wrong IMO. I live in the Bible Belt region of the US (HELLO THAR, FIFTEEN CHURCHES OF VARIOUS CHRISTIAN SECTS ON ONE FRIGGIN' STREET!) and we have casinos in certain places, state lotteries, bingo nights for money and other prizes AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND SAID CHURCHES... If it's okay in states that have some of the craziest conservatives ever, I don't see why not. Plus, I doubt you're going crazy with it, so I say enjoy yo' tong-its, b'y. :)

Thanks a lot, Kady. Thanks a lot. I felt so upset yesterday because of this. I don't feel like talking to her anymore because of what she said.

I agree that those things are okay as long as there's moderation. I hate how she says all those stuff because she's more or less saying my opinions are wrong and that hers are right. She even said she's just telling the truth and that I should be biblical and that she's just being a friend for "helping" me and that she's just clearing things out for me so that I will know. Man, I don't want to talk to her again.

I can understand more if she's telling me not to drink instead just like what you told me. I have an allergy and I realized it'll be bad for my health if I'll continue. That's why I don't drink anymore.

Thanks for being a friend.

Regarding drinking: That's good.

I'm sorry if I came across like that other girl during my original message about you regarding that. I was just concerned about what was going to happen to you (plus, it did seem like you had an allergy too; didn't want some bad shit to happen to you). @_@

No, no, it's okay, Kady. You didn't came across like the other girl. And I have undestood you more.

It's just the other girl was somehow forcing me that she's the one who's right and although she said she understood my point, I think she doesn't. She said she's saying a fact and that she's just f****** sharing it to me and that I have to give up some things for my sake. But the point is, why the f*** she's making me give up playing Tong-its when it's not even wrong and it's not the only thing that causes gambling and leading to doing something wrong.

I believe it's just a matter of perception. Tong-its has been a good gambling game for years but Tong-its for me is like the other kid-friendly card games out there and board games like Snake and Ladders, Monopoly, etc. The fact that's she's making her opinion a fact and making herself the godly one just pisses me off. And that's why I don't want to talk to her again. She did say sorry but she still brought out the fact that she's the one who's right. I can clearly see how sincere that apology was.

I want to growl to her when I'll find out she's been buying raffle tickets and playing bingos during our school activities. I hope I'll find out she's been copying assignments/exams too so that I can tell to her face that she's so thick-skinned to do something dishonest. Or maybe not.

Agreed.

In the meantime, here's a wonderful (but sadly incomplete) list of Evangelist scandals. If you're preaching against something, don't get caught doing it.
