i recently had to change my front pump seal in the tranny..after doing this i turned it on and heard a screeching sort of sound and going down the road it shifted weird today it wont shift out of second? could if be a bad torque converter? |

nah...sounds like you messed up puttin it in....bad converter wouldnt matter for a shift...can you manually shift it outta second or what |

its an auto 700r4 so i dont think i can manually shift it out of second but i reading somewhere that if the torque converter is bad it will make a grinding noise when on the gas, but the noise will stop as soon as you let off the gas...which is exactly what mine was doing i'd rather spend 130 on a new t/c then buy a new tranny so im gonna try it and hope for the best |

hmm...i doubt it man....still thinkin you did sumthing inside when you did the seal....did you seat the converter all teh way in properly and do you have the correct ammount of fluid in the tranny |

yepp checked the fluid and pushed the converter all the way in bad thing is this is my second tranny :angry: first one i ran with no t.v cable hooked up for a while and then all of a sudden one day it wouldn't shift outta second just like this one |

no tv cable?? dude.. that's the most serious thing you can do to a 700r4.... no tv cable = no pressure .....complete distruction of ur tranny.. |
