It's possible. I've seen a lot of guys running around my neighborhood with fast 4-cylinder cars. What they'll do is stroke out the motor, do all the N/A mods you can possibly do and then spray it. That's how they run all motor. Realisically, without spraying, you NEED to have forced induction to run those times. Unless he's running a completely radical setup (I'm talking using alcohol fuel).

The downside is, what they can't get in power, they make up for in weight reduction. A lot of these guys run EG6 Civic hatchbacks with fiberglass or carbom panels and a completely gutted interior. The car will be stripped all the way down to bare metal and paint.

Without spraying and completely built and stripped, I've seen em run 13s. One was in the 12s. Don't underestimate them, they used to give me a lot of trouble even when I had the Supra, racing from a roll was risky since they're so light they just jump ahead like crazy.

People get creative when they don't have too much money. Now you have to watch out for old school 80s Cressidas running around with the Supra motor swap. Imagine getting your ass handed to you by an ugly 20 yr-old family car.

Well, it really depends. The vast majority of them are POS cars. They're the ones you see running around with fart can mufflers and the like. The guys who really know their stuff love to swap in the B16 Integra motors or one of the new K series Honda motors and go to town. These engines have tons of potential and in a really light car, they will kill a lot of other cars from a roll on the highway.

Sure you can build em fast... problem is, they're gonna cost you money WHEN you pop that motor. And you will running at really high power levels.

With my GTA, I don't care anymore if the guy next to me can smoke me. I just want to cruise and look cool. 8D

Yeah, it's true, it is embarrassing. That's one of the reasons i got a Supra a while back. I got my ass handed to me while driving my GTA, by an 86 Cressida with a Mk III Supra motor swapped in.

In the end, unless you're doing real racing such as auto-X or actual circuit work, it's all about how much money was dumped into the car. (let the flaming session begin)

As an example, my friend runs a 700HP Supra and rips up the 1/4 mile, but he can't drive worth a damn on a track that actually has turns on it. So on the streets, I cruise now, mostly to piss off my anonymous friend in that black Charger that always tailgates me waiting to see if I'm gonna do something. :lmao:

But yes, back to my original point. You can't underestimate Hondas anymore. If built right they will smoke you.

it's funny...the main reason i put my first 383 into my car was because some asshole in a mustang kept on messing with me on franny loo years back... so make a long story short... I returned with a beefier car and tore him a new ------> (__)o(__) :D

Well, they did have the motors of the same year Supra. People drop 1JZ's and 2JZ in them. I love those Cressidas. Especially the 85-88 MX73 ones! <3333

And for the Hondas, that VTEC system is just amazing.

I stand corrected. I've never been a big fan of Honda tuning. I always drive Hondas for what they are... economical grocery getter cars.

Besides, when it comes to import tuning, I'm a Toyota man for life.

Yes, there is some serious guys out there with "tuners' that you must give a bit of respect too. Like a supra thats done right. The problem though is this- 90% of these "tuner" kids on the roads out here. Just have a standard 4cyl civi with a fart can and a spoiler, lowered with rims and some stickers.. And to those like that, that are the majority of "tuners" gimme a break there car has 140ft pds, and they think racing is weaving inb and out of traffic on the LIE.. They wouldnt have the sac to run me off the line..
