I come out of school today, start the 4Runner up. Massive exhaust leak. I'm like "wtf, this shit was fine this morning." Have my friend put his hand over the tailpipe, I look underneath. Some asshole cut the fcuking catalytic converter off some time between 7am and 11am while I was in school. School cameras doesnt catch that far outside. So I'm screwed. Catalytic converter thefts are notorious on Toyota trucks since they are high up and easy access with a hacksaw. Gonna install a straight pipe on it. Sucked fcuking balls driving on the highway back home. |

Ive heard of this before... sucks but ive heard it happens on all trucks that people can get a sawsall near the cat. As long as your 4runner doesnt have a downstream O2 sensor you shouldnt have any problems running no cat unless your emmisions inspector is a stickler. Sucks tho... |

The 02 Sensor was right before the cat so I'm safe. Bought a straight pipe today, gonna weld it tomorrow afternoon in school. I'm just pissed off it happened to me. I remember thinking about lining the whole thing with razor blades just in case it happened. <_< |

Don't worry. Growing up in Brooklyn, taught me a lot. I dont need hand to hand combat skillz. Just a slab of concrete and a really short temper. I honestly would've probably stomped his face into the ground if I had walked up on it happening. If only... |

I would soooo love to find someone messing with my car.. It would be like a dream come true...only problem is I dunno if i would break his elbow, dislocate his shoulder, break his neck. hip, couple of fingers, knees,or foot...that would be a very tough decision..

Welcome back to the 80s folks. Remember when all this shit used to happen? Well, it's starting up again. I was walking down my neighborhood this morning to my Civic and noticed 4 cars in a row with their windows busted out. Sorry to hear it Sam. Maybe you are better off just putting in a straight pip. If you put another cat in there, they'll probably just rip that one out too. Last time I caught somebody breaking into my car, he crawled away from the encounter.

Al, I'm putting a straight pipe in tommorrow. I was supposed to do it today, but the Live shop at school was flooded with jobs with no available lift. I might end up just using the Body shop's welder and do it on the floor. The aftermarket cats arent worth shit anyway. I also dont know why now they are going for cats because they arent worth that much anymore. |

Welded the straight pipe on today. Still got a slight exhaust leak. I wasnt able to catch the top of the pipe when I welded it to the muffler because of clearance issues. Gonna put muffler patch on it and it should be good to go. |
