Hey everyone, I was just wondering, what would it take to get a 4L60E transmission to work in our cars? The 4L60E is the 4-speed that was used on the 4th gens starting in 94 and is basically a 700R4 that is controlled electronically rather than having the TV cable control its shift points. If I can get one to work in my car, it'll kill two birds with one stone. I'm looking to buy a beefed up tranny from CK Performance and their 4L60E looks damn good. |

I dont get why you would want to go from the 700r4 to the 4l60e? The only reason I could really see putting one in a car would be if you are going to an LTx or LSx setup where the computer controls the shifts? Besides a new tranny crossmember, i am really not sure of what else it would take to get it to be controlled by an external computer. Are you worried about the TV cable mounting location on the Tram or just dont want to deal with a TV cable? |

its a swap commonly done, you jus have to hook one sensor up or sumthing to contril the tranny, thats it. |

Bingo. And I want to be able to program shift points. I did some more research... TCI makes a computer to control the tranny... Looks good to me. I just have to figure out how to make it work now. I'm going to go take a trip to CK Performance sometime soon and talk to them about making this shit work right. |

if and when you go there, let me know, i may come down or you can jus ask him how much for a nasty 700r4 or even a 4l60...to handle about 800 horse. i have the converter |

I was gonna go with an electronically controlled tranny..but opted not to...it's just the module that controls the shifts..easy to do.. Alex..i believe ck's 700's are rated up to 750horses...you are better off going 4L80e for your setup...much more beefier..theres only so much that can be done to the 700R's.. |
