The price of owning Godzilla (Nissan GT-R)

So today I went to Nissan with a buddy of mine to get brakes and oil change done on his R-35 GT-R. Total bill?

$4,300...

And what did this bill get him? Fresh brake pads on all 4 corners, and new oil and new filter, and a complimentary a**hole enlarging without lube for his GT-R with only 5000 miles on it. (Yes, he killed his brakes already)

So, after seeing the shock and awe of his face upon receiving the bill, we stop at Autozone so i can get new brake pads for my car. Total cost?

$40.00. (I know the dude who works there, he hooks me up real good.)

The look on my buddy's face was absolutely priceless, and he actually said, "Man, I'm never calling your car a POS again..."

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I really appreciate our cars a lot more after what I saw today...
The GT-R is an amazing car, and can even make the worst driver look good on the race track, but with oil changes at $250 a pop, I think I'll stick to my OBD-I first generation fuel injection V8 F-Body.

Well, with the GT-R you have no choice. You dont wanna void the warranty.

Voiding the warranty is a lie that the dealers tell you. As long as you have receipts that any work was performed by a certified mechanic your warrenty can not be voided.

Ok what was so special with the oil and brakes that it cost so much?

they told me that about my girlfriends hundia and all i do is buy the oil filter from them and do it my self that way its in there computer every 3000 miles that there was a filter purchased yet another reason i hate imports they jack the prices up on everything and say it has to be done by the dealer

Oh it gets better. Apparently, in Japan, the car is hooked into a GPS network. The car's computer won't unlock the full capabilities of the car until it reads that you are on a race track. Once the computer logs that you've done some racing, you have to take the car in for service.

And Glen, the brakes on this car a fcukin huge. I believe it was pads and rotors, as the brake work itself cost $4000. The pads alone cost $1350. They're severe duty Brembo OE brakes that are suppsoed to be able to stop the car from it's max speed of 200mph.

LOL... in Japan, the G35 is actually the new Skyline. There is no Infiniti in Japan, so the G37 is called the Skyline there. The new GT-R is not a Skyline actually. It became its own model seperate from the Skyline. Lots of the kids like to do the whole JDM thing since it's the "IN" thing to do within the tuner community right now. Some people even do the RHD steering conversion. You should see how this kid in my old Supra crew paid tolls after his RHD conversion... :fail:

On a side note, my friend who owns the GT-R is thinking about selling and picking up a Z06. :lmao:

does that logic apply for the gt-r? If you can afford a gt-r than you can afford 4k brakes?

although the percentage ratio of brake cost to price of vehicle is almost double for the gtr.. <_<

on a side note...I would love to race a ferrari or lambo in the quarter...would be nice to spank a quarter of a mill car's ass with my little puny thirdgen..
