Inspired by TGO member TurboedTPI's use of ONLY a reinforced differential cover on his bone stock 91 10-bolt and the ability to hold over 500rwhp with his Turbo TPI set up, I went out and purchased my own from Spohn. I just put in on today:

Bought from Spohn on Manny's group purchase, took me about 45 minutes total to put in, I thought it was a TA Performance rear end cover, but it turned out to be a Trick Flow brand... Spohn mislabeled. Anyway, besides the point, it's got the load bearing studs that press against the rear end caps to reinforce it.

No metal particles in my rear end fluid...

I ended up going with Royal Purple 75-90 and GM LSD additive. That shit really smells... I need to recover from my high now.

Does anybody have any use or want a stock 10-bolt differential cover? I'm letting mine go for the absolutely unbelieveable price of FREE!!! Act now before I trash this shit.

Hey how's it going? How's the car working for you?

The cover I just put in that's on the pics is supposed to strengthen the rear end by a lot. 10-bolts are notoriously weak, so a simple answer to this is to buy a reinforced cover with the load bearing studs that press against the rear end main caps to give them reinforcement during hard launches. You can see the studs on either side of the "trickflow" logo. Also the cover is a lot thicker than the stock one I just took off so it helps keep the rear end housing from flexing.

I put this on because some guy on TGO is running a 550rwhp Turbo set up on his 91 Formula, and all he did was put on one of these. He's done multiple 10 second passes and street races his car, so I figured what the hell, I'll give it a try too.

If you want my old stock cover, it's yours. I don't know for sure what rear end you have. You may have a 9-bolt, but I'm not entirely sure.

Here's how a stock 10-bolt cover looks like:

Note how much thinner it is. It also doesn't have load bearing studs.

That cap is very good but I guarantee u that tgo guy doesn't have too much time left until he grenades his rearend with that much power...I was actually telling mr. Spade about this mod a couple of months back..this would be my first mod if I kept my ten bolt..good luck with it..

Very cool.. I have the LPW girdle cover. I hope that and the other things that ive done to my rear will give it a longer life. That guy ZDaddy also has a built 10bolt and it putting over 700ft pds to it. And ive also searched around TGO a bit about this, and ive seen several 12 second and better cars running there 10 bolts.. Just dont go crazy trying to get the car to hook to well..
