Got a ticket

:( OK, just got a ticket for no front plate. I was going to my beach club this morning and ran into a roadblock in Long Beach. The cop pull me over and said "where is your front plate"...I knew I was busted and told him it was on the passenger side under the rug. I was pushing it for three years so it was a matter of time before I got caught. The cop was pretty cool, basically said get it fixed today.

So here's the deal, I have 24hrs to resolve the problem(till 5 pm tomorrow) in order for the ticket to be dismissed. My question is where should I mount the plate - in the middle or off to the side?. I don't have much time, I bought a universal frame plate from Pep Boys it's the straight kind but the nose of the car is pointed....what should I do???

Let me know your ideas ASAP.....thanks

Go to TGO's apperance and detail section, and do a search. There's a couple ways to mount it to youre air dam. Please dont drill out a T/A bumper. It looks like shit. It wasnt designed for a front plate.

use masking tape to hold the plate to the nose. snap a few pictures, and voila. good as legal. I dont use a front plate either.. the car wasnt meant for it. i do keep the plate in the car, and throw it on the dashboard quick if need be.. Dont drill out your car. :(

Long Beach has their own Police [whackkk] bc theyre an incorporated village. same as freeport, hempstead, etc. They dont have to physically see the repair. pictures of a taped on plate would suffice fine, or like previously mentioned, have a mechanic just write you a receipt and bring that with you when you go to get the ticket dismissed.

One time i got a ticket for a headlight out. So i waited a couple hours and drove to the 1st precient. I pulled up right in front. At the old preceint the front desk faced out to the parking lot. So i put it right in the front with the brights on. And said, look, i just fixed it. And i then got my affadavid.. Gotta love Halogens..

I'm good for now, I had my NYPD neighbor sign off on the affidavit that said he did a visual. I'm going to Home Depot to fab up an L bracket I saw on TGO...should cost me $10 bucks or so.....

:idk: And yet their starting pay is alot more than NYPD's...

There is not as much room for advancement in those towns and basically if you are stuck with a shitty boss your screwed, whereas in the NYPD you have huge room for advancement and transfering is not a huge deal.

I had a long talk with my dad about this when he was trying to talk me into becoming a police officer... He has been with the NYPD 36 or 37 years and counting...
